Martin Wagner is 14 and different than everyone else in his high school. It worries him but he has a resolution, one that will take him to the top.

Just as Billy Roberts is beginning to think he might be able to begin revealing his true self to those closest to him, he is finding out that those closest to him have secrets of their own. His parents are growing further apart as his father's health is failing and his mother is falling under the spell of a charismatic homophobe. His boyfriend is hiding something that could destroy someone's life. His best friend is being driven over the edge by his abusive family. And through it all, Billy is being bullied by someone he once considered a friend. Welcome to W.A.R..

Jack and Willy have a job to do. They are definitely not happy about it because it stinks of 'them on the mountain' but they have no choice but to carry out the instructions to the letter no matter how buch it bothers them. It would have bothered them a whole lot more if they had known that high up on the mountain something is coming.

When all is said and done --- it doesn't matter.

Six members of the world's recently-endangered human population attempt to build a personal utopia in the ruins of an apartment building and a night club, but all of the booze, drugs, and dancing in the world can't indefinitely fend off the monsters in the streets, or quell the dangers of their own turbulent relationships.
