A rather dark tale, at least in the first part.

On the darker side of the "Gone From Daylight" spinoffs, this story takes you through the night by night journey's of a man named 'Jack' in the mid 70's. Jack may be human...but he isn't so different from the hidden society of vampires, populating Chicago's streets. When he meets an arrogant visitor in the late night hours...a 'deal' of sorts is made between them. One where both secrets can be kept at the other's expense. But just how long can an agreement between two predators last? Read and see!

This year I wouldn't be denied. It was All Hallows Eve and the magic to transform and pass through the veil between worlds would be mine. No matter how many times my mother warned me, I just had to see the human realm for myself.

CJ Abelló returns to Georgetown in the fall of 2022 for an advanced degree. During the two years back on the Hilltop, his education is not limited to the classroom; his analytical mind and his ability to articulate complex matters in a way his audience could assimilate the matter helped. Spring break, and everyone is back from college for some good Southern partying. For those who never left, like Marshal, their friends coming back means booze, girls and hanging out on tailgates with a bigger crowd. Marshal is happy to spend his evening lusting after a man he can't have, but someone else has other ideas.

Mason survives a near death experience and loses his prized possession in the process, his guitar. The second hand guitar he buys online introduces him to the boy who just might be able to turn around a lifetime of hard times and loneliness.
