Chapter I2- Kendall’s Response- Everything

You own me, every cell in my body

Every pearl of sweat that forms

When you touch my heated skin

A heat you are the fuel and the match for

I would gladly combust in your embrace

Yes, I would die for you

But I will live for you instead

I will love you, I will shelter you

And I will strive for you

But I will enjoy you most of all

Because I know that gives you the most reward

We are one, forever and always

Only death can separate us

And even then we would find a way

You are my world, my universe

Emptiness will find no refuge in me

For I am filled to overflowing with your presence

And the purest love you bestow on me

You are the unattainable dream that haunted me

And now you worship me

I have been given… Everything

A response to 'Michael's Ode to Kendall'... Kendall insisted on having his turn...

First you pour out Michael's soul and then Kendall has his turn ... you've distilled the essence of COTT and served it up richly. AC is, I believe, correct ... you've written their wedding vows.

Thanks, dugh. I believe I was channeling them today. I do really love these guys. I guess you and AC are right... they could be wedding vows. This one, Kendall's did literally pour out in a steady stream... sometimes that really surprises me... another awesome review, my friend... cheers... Gary...

Darn it  I said Michael's Ode is my favorite poem and then you write this one... okay now it's a tie between the two :D

AC and Dugh... yep Gary I agree with the, these are their wedding vows

LOL!! I love it. I'll happily take the tie. It is amazing how I couldn't get any peace until I wrote Kendall's for him. Does that mean I'm crazy? So glad you like this one as well as Michael's, Drew. You made my day... cheers... Gary

Now that I have read Kendall's Response, I can clearly see both as marriage vows.

Both the Ode and the Response speak loudly and clearly of the bottomless depth of Michael and Kendall's love and respect for each other.

Their words are truly magical... :)

Yeah, I can see it too, now. Poetry is a beautiful way to express how you feel. Thanks for thinking them 'magical', and thanks for the review... cheers... Gary...

Another great poem that channels so much emotion. You can "see" Kendall just watching Michael as these words go through his head. Who wouldn't want this deep of a connection with another person?

Thanks Eagle. I only intended to write the first one, but I could hear the things Kendall would say. I was compelled to give his response, and I guess that speaks to the connection they have in my head. I'm glad you can see it here. Cheers, my friend... Gary...

Omg Michael's was great but Kendall ' s is the epitome of a person not just consumed by love but realizing the fulfillment of a wish of an unrequited love.

Thank you pzetts, for taking the time to read and review Michael and Kendall's poems. As I said in other review replies, I'd only intended to write Michael's poem, but I knew Kendall would have something to say. These guys live in my head, and sometimes they take over. You've nailed it that this one is Kendall's celebration of achieving that once unattainable, unrequited love. Michael is the answer to all his dreams... hence the title... Kendall has 'Everything' he could ever want, and he wants Michael to hear these words... wonderful review... cheers... Gary...

I am tending towards Eagles view, I could see both M&K saying these words to each other as they watch them sleep. Both are lost in each other.

That's how I saw it too. Michael watching Kendall while he fell asleep at the end of chapter 40 was my inspiration... and then it morphed into Kendall having his say. Thanks again, Bucket. They are lost in each other... cheers... Gary...

Aww shucks... Kendall. I agree with everyone. These are vows!

I'm going to borrow a little from my 3 yr old niece and tell you, I love these poems "all the way in my heart."

That is the sweetest way to say it. Out of the mouths of babes lol. I am so pleased you liked this one too. they go together, just like Kendall and Michael. Cheers, Def... the response these have gotten make me feel blessed... Gary...

Haha, now you know what you have to do, if you didn't already plan it. It's the same heartfelt tenor as in Michael's, but different enough. Admit it, they own you.

I admit it... they do own me lol. This one wasn't planned, and I didn't intend for them to be vows, but I guess they kind of came out that way. Thanks for the support, Adi... cheers... Gary...

So much beauty and love in a few lines. I love the idea of this and Michael's ode as wedding vows.

LOL That's the general consensus, although I assure you it was not intended. It was more or less just expressing what we feel about someone in a way we usually don't. Inner thoughts exposed. Thank you, Lit, once again, for your support... cheers... Gary...

This is just as tender as the other partner's avowal, but true to his character, it's more sensual too. That is brilliant laid out here. Beautiful, Gary. Just beautiful.

Thanks, AC. That is an astute observation of the difference in the two. I think I agree with you, that this one is true to Kendall's character, that he is more sensual. Thanks for the kind and encouraging words. Personally, these two poems rank with the ones inspired by the scene from 'Bent' for the satisfaction they feed me. I'm so pleased they are well received. I even liked that I didn't hinder the words of Kendall as they poured out... that I went with Free Verse, when I actually intended Blank Verse. I like the freedom of having many forms to choose from and to go with. Cheers... Gary...

What else needs to be said? Kendall has been granted his fondest and dearest wish--the love of Michael Aceto. The attaining is as wonderful as he expected, the more so because he had almost given up hope.

Twin stars, twin flames burning forever, like the Dioskuri Castpr and Pollux, together forever.

A wonderful review! I thank you, CG. Yes Kendall has achieved the unattainable dream, and he glories in it... that which is named Michael Aceto. I so appreciate this support, buddy... cheers... Gary...

I knew you'd written these, Gary - Kendall's and Michael's. But I don't know, I just couldn't read them then.
Maybe because I didn't know the boys too well at the time. I think I would have been moved by these but it wouldn't have meant the same thing or have the same impact as they do now. I'm lucky to have an amazing relationship with my husband, who I write for. He's not into writing, but there are times, in those quiet moments we are together where he'll whisper something as beautiful.
I don't know if Michael and Kendall ever read each other's words but I don't know either if they really need to.
Another wonderful poem, Gary. Thank you.

"Simple as That" comes to mind. One of my favorite poems of yours. I think your Michael shows, with this poem of yours, that he has a romantic soul. I'm glad you waited till you knew the boys better before you read these. This one, Kendall's, poured out in free verse, while Michael's was my attempt at Blank verse. It's a great feeling when your characters take over and push you out of the way. I'm so glad you found what you did in these... thanks and cheers... Gary...
