Write a story that begins with a phone call at three in the morning.

Trevor insisted the house phone be on his side of the bed. There was one problem with that; Trevor was nearly impossible to wake up. One night, the phone rings at three AM. Julius has a hard time waking Trevor, but finally succeeds. Trevor finally answers the phone on the ninth ring. The phone call starts something they never could have expected.

The year is 1891, and the Wild West is dying. Alvarez is a smartly dressed, smooth-talking bandito riding north with a stolen fortune, a lethal six-shooter, and one very spoiled cat. He travels alone, until he finds a half-frozen boy bleeding in the cold mud. Devon is an exile, violently banished from his Mennonite community and hunted by the very boys who broke him. My second story, it is about a High School graduate and his group of friends. It is likely another roughly written story, I was most definitely still trying out the whole writing thing when I wrote it. So I know some things may be unclear or confusing. But, like I said, early work. So I hope at least some people can enjoy it. First posted in 2003/2004, I was in High School at the time.
