Weekly Wrap Up (Jun. 28 - Jul. 4)

    By wildone

Well a belated Happy 250th Birthday to our American neighbours  Someone told me @Myr came over, not on the Mayflower, but another boat and tossed tea into Boston Harbour . Seems kind of far fetched though  . So question 1 for all out Weekly Wrap Up readers, if you live in the U S of A, did you do anything special on Saturday or Saturday night. Or are you still celebrating on Sunday AM when this is posted? 250 years is quite a long time, in North American terms. Also a happy belat

It's February, and thoughts turn to the changing of the seasons, Valentine's Day, love, and romance! So, here we go with a short story featuring love in a little tale that you might have missed! Please give it a read, like, comment, or review and come back for the interview on the Discussion day at the end of the month.  Spring and a Ring by @Griz Length: 8,231 Description: Two young farmers in rural central Montana meet as Winter turns to Spring, and everything frozen begins

Weekly Wrap Up (Jan. 25 - Jan. 31)

Hmmm, so we are 1 down and 11 to go in months of this year. Where did January go!   Groundhog day is a coming, so just in case you haven't seen the movie like 100 times staring Bill Murray, especially over and over again on Groundhog Day, keep your eyes out on your local listings 🙄 A question for my friends to the south, how did you handle your small wisps of winter that we deal with from Nov. to May  I shouldn't laugh, as places like Georgia and Texas among other places are not really

Title Prompts

I was recently looking for a new series to binge-watch during the nasty winter storm we just had and found a few that were promising based on the description.  Then I read the title "The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart".  Hmmm... intriguing.  I scrolled past, then said I couldn't pass up something with such an interesting title.  So over the next couple of days I discovered what the lost flowers were and who Alice Hart was.  It was a riveting story, and I highly recommend it if anyone is looking for

Weekly Wrap Up (Jan. 18 - Jan. 24)

My secret has been revealed 🕺I did say last week that it might be on site or not. Well it turned out that I knew we were going to announce this year's Anthology Themes 🥳So that was my big secret.  Thanks to our Admin Team who collaborated on discussing many different ideas of the past Anthologies, the number, the wording and the hopeful attraction to every one of our Authors and Poets, new, old and maybe ones that might be inspired that we have not met yet .  Consideration was also taken in

'Dead happy' by Josh Silver

'Dead happy' by Josh Silver. My rating: 5 (out of 5) stars I haven't posted here in a while. I've still been reading but nothing's grabbed me quite in the way this book did. This was a gripping, emotional follow-up to Happyhead. In continuing to skewer cults and pseudo-psychology, Josh Silver delivers a real humdinger of a book. Seb's journey continues. A queer teen, he's been enrolled in a programme that claims to foster happiness, even in the most unpromising. The psychologic

**2026 Anthology Announcement**

It's here!  The moment we've all been eagerly waiting for!  It's time to announce the 2026 Anthology theme!  But before we do, you know we like to keep everyone on their toes, so there's a bit of a twist for 2026.   This year we decided on.... Two themes!  So if one doesn't strike your fancy, hopefully the other one will.  Ideally, both will inspire authors to write a story for each.  So without further ado, here are the themes for the 2026 GA Anthology! Motivation

Warning: I'm about to geek out over working out. Move on if you aren't interested. LOL   I've got the habit now. Getting up early, going to the gym, and getting that handled 4-5 days a week is now something I just do. I used to be extrinsically motivated by results. I needed to SEE changes to keep doing what I needed to do. But I'm past that. It's just something I do (which helps with consistency).   But after using a new workout system called "Average to
