RIP - Comicality - May 1975 -- April 2024

I have been following Comicality since New Kid in School first showed up on Nifty in 1998. I started exchanging emails with him that long ago. We've been online friends since. When the opportunity arose for me to start Gay Authors in Sep 2002, Comicality was the first author with us. When we opened the forums at the very end of July in 2003, it only took me a few days to get Comicality on the forums. Back then he was on a WebTV... New Kid In School was the first story I'd ever read on GA as I didn't know that a lot of erotic fiction existed. I still have trouble with many aspects of being gay, but I always returned to this story at times because I could relate to Ryan and Randy. I believe I discovered Comsie way back in 2002. Even though I never knew him, Comsie will be missed. RIP. -

Please do MrM! I know first hand he loved what you were creating and for good reason. I'm responsible for some of IM's last minute posting delays because his emails got to me last normally and sometimes in formatting your chapters, I'd make the mistake of reading a sentence or twenty. When I can look at it without totally falling apart, I want to reach out to you directly regarding picking up your work where it left off. He passed the message back to me through his mother to resume posting -

I only had a few personal interactions with Comsie, way back in the way back, when God was a kid, dirt was rocks and dinosaurs roamed the earth. I was struggling with the weight of my childhood, and all of my issues and baggage, and he was very kind. He helped me a great deal more than he ever knew. Even though it has been several years since we have corresponded, he will be remembered fondly and missed fiercely. -

Oh so evil socialist Finland has a cure for homelessness: they give people homes! That sounds odd, even for states with a social welfare system. Usually, people have to "prove" that they are "worthy" of a flat. Now how can you sort yourself out when you sleep on the streets? A couple of weeks ago, there was an announcement that Comicality's writing blog would cease and that people who enjoyed it should take the opportunity to tell him. At that point, I wondered what happened there, but I made a mental note to write a response telling how much I had enjoyed him sharing his advice. I never did. There was always something more important to do. Life and seize the day! He was my age ... I sincerely hope his passing was easy and peaceful! RIP! -
Comicality’s legacy is a formidable amount of stories. It will keep us remembering extraordinary and very talented author. Requiescat in pace -
You know I was actually scared the first time I emailed him? I was so worried that I was just taking up his valuable time and he was too busy to care about yet another reader. I was so shocked when he emailed back and sounded genuinely happy to hear from me. I kept emailing him a few more times, the usual "Hey, I loved the latest chapter of GFD!" and he'd always reply (fashionably late, but that's just the Comsie way). OMG yes. He radiated the youth he portrayed in his stories. Without question. I remember when Imagine Magazine got hacked for the last time and he was going to let it go, I was so nervous to offer help. I mean we've been friends for like 100 years but as an author, I was a total fanboi and I needed to put that image down to get the work that was needed done. It's been in the last 5 or 6 years working with him every month that I've gotten to know him as the man, not the legend. To me his name was
