Weekly Wrap Up (Oct. 3 - Oct. 10)

Well Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends Although I'm sure many people are wondering what Thanksgiving, Halloween and Christmas will look like this year, I'm sure we will all return to what is most important to us and celebrate that! You tell me what that is to you.   So I do really want to take a moment out on this weeks wrap up to give a shout out to Carlos and all he does for the Ask An Author 2.0. He has a new one every month for Renee or me to share with everyone here. The

Every week we have different blogs featured here on the GA News Blog. For the past month and a half, Thursdays have been used to feature a past Anthology or Contest with new stories from that feature spread out over a month. This blog is done by the omnipotent one, the big kahuna, the big cheese, the master of all, the seerer of all things GA, aka @Myr Well I didn't happened to notice this past Thursday that Myr's anthology blog wasn't featured on Thursday 😮 and not until Thursday night.T

Well happy Candy Hangover Day!!! If you partook in Halloween last night that is. I guess all day yesterday I wore a mask a lot of day, but not a scary one   Talking with some friends, they said they bought the same amount of Halloween Candy this year, knowing full well that they would probably have less than 10 percent of the usual trick or treaters. The reason? They felt they could eat all the candy they wanted and not feel guilty and not worry about running out before the end of the

Boo Did I scare you  ? If not, send me a PM and I'll send you a picture of me getting out of bed first thing in the morning. I will also include a number to call for free counselling . So I would be remiss if I did not mention that if you are reading this Saturday night or Sunday, you still have time to get an Anthology in. Just click on the bright orange banner or links on the Forums page for more information   Now before we get this wrap up done as some of us prepare to get

Sooooo, that should kick off the mood of this weekend  Not really sure what is more scary, the song or the facial expressions of Bobby Pickett!! I had a certain European food and chocolate company send me a whole bunch of Halloween candy mini bars due to my current job! I have boxes and boxes of mini chocolate bars, not the best for a lifelong diabetic  I know that Krista is expecting some but I think the UPS fee to send them to Kentucky might be a bit excessive. So what should I do with th

Just a reminder to all, you have less than 2 months to get your favourite GA staff member their Christmas present.  Maybe I shouldn't say that, I will be like Harry Potter on Christmas morning receiving presents from his Aunt and Uncle and lovely cousin Dudley! One year a 50 pence coin which is 60 cents USD, a toothpick and finally a single tissue . Believe it or not, that is my first HP reference in my life   Now if you couldn't wait for Christmas, Val had an early present for you again th

If you go down in the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise If you go down in the woods today, you'd better go in disguise Teddy Bears Picnic - Henry Hall   Don't know why, but I always equated this song with Halloween and scary. But then again, I can only remember those two lines  Well enough of my childhood musings and give you all fair warning, I am tuckered out from Halloween....already . Maybe I won't mention it again in my next weekly wrap up!    Now lets ge

Wow, I didn't even realize it was Saturday night going onto Sunday morning in my here parts! But then again, for some reason I didn't realize we were in the last week of October too 😮 Halloween on Thursday, and then November on Friday, we are well on our way to wrapping up 2019 and into the 2020's Before I get looking too far into the future, the meaning of the wrap up to do a visit of the past, so let's look what happened here the past week on the GA News Blog. Well a Happy Thanksgiving to all our Canadian friends. Not sure if you all have plans to be with someone(s) for the day or for dinner, but I really hope you all do . I'll be heading out to friends place this year to join his entire family to enjoy a turkey and so much more   I was thinking about Halloween, since it is my job in real life , is like less that 3 weeks away . So have you put any thoughts into what you are going to dress up as? That is if you dress up. Why not have some fun this

Boo!!! So did I skare you ? It is less than a week now to Halloween. Does it seem due to Covid there just isn't the real excitement that most years have 😢  In my city/province trick or treating isn't banned or restricted, but some strong recommendations to keep both yourself and the kiddies safe. I wish I lived in a two story house, I so would have a plastic pipe or tube running from a second floor window and shooting the candy down to the kids that do come out. Heck, I would prob

They say a picture is worth a thousand words  This is what it looked like in my next of the woods after 3 days of temps in the mid 20's C, (77F) which were records, to dropping down below 0 overnight (32 F) and getting around 15 cm (6 inches) of snow  Just so you know, even though I'm happy to see some much needed moisture and the first snow fall of the year, I blame this 100% on @Krista   She wished this on me for like the past month and a half.  Now rumour has it snow has been spotted bel

Goodness gracious, where the H E double hockey sticks did the week go  It just seemed like a couple of days ago I was doing up last weeks wrap up! The fact that we are losing weeks quicker than the Covid pounds a lot of are carrying around , means we are getting closer and closer to Christmas  Looks like I've secured a present from @clochette   So why am in saying this soooo soon? Happy real Thanksgiving  At least to my Canadian friends.  You know what that means here, another day off for a long weekend or if you work on Monday, probably will be time and a half  Makes me thankful I live in Canada   This long weekend I find myself dog sitting at the dog's house. Not as in the dog house  but at the house the dog's live with their human friends. Well all, I hope you've had a great weekend! Thought I'd take a quick second to tell y'all that I'll see ya in a week (or a little over a week) as this girl is heading out for GRL (GayRomLit) as a Supporting Author this week. I won't be on GA much, if at all, so if you message me I most likely won't answer right away, and it might have to wait until I get back. I hope you all have a wonderful upcoming week and I'll see ya when I get back. Wish me luck (I'll need it!)!!!!  While I'm gone, if you

Well we just missed a Friday the 13th by a day  Would have been great to have one in this month. I know that some of our non North American friends don't see the hype over Halloween, but we all here do! A chance to become someone else, to come up with new and better ideas on how to scare someone, or revisit an old one. So if you are not into Halloween, why not join us and let your hair down and take in all the fun that we are having here at GA! Actually, why not comment simply your country, if y
