Weekly Wrap Up (Dec. 12 - Dec. 18)

So Steve, why are you blasting 80's hair band music so early on a Sunday morning?  Well, technically you have only 5 days left for buying your Christmas Presents (including mine) before the day the big fat jolly guy comes around 🎅  That brings up another topic... That is right, our next weekly update will be on Boxing Day, if your not sure what that is ask a friendly neighbourhood Canadian or Brit     On behalf of all the staff here at Gay Authors, we all want to w

Weekly Wrap Up (Nov. 26 - Dec. 02)

Its starting to feel a lot like Christmas... Well, I hope you all are getting in the festive spirit  Maybe not so much myself. The past two weeks and been nightmarishly busy at work and I don't know if I'm coming or a going. Hoping maybe tomorrow will get me out of my bah humbug mood, as we go out to the forests and find Christmas Trees! I won't be getting one as there isn't enough in room my condo, but at least it is the first Christmassy thingy I'll be doing   So what happened l

We're going to get right into the wrap up this week, starting with a reminder. The winter anthology deadline is coming up quick and we've only had a couple of entries so far. If you want to participate in the anthology, you need to have your stories to the Anthology Proof Team by December 3rd. Hope to see lots more entries come in! Now, let's see what happened in the GA news blog this past week.   This week was our Signature Author week and we started it out by featuring CJames with our new Si

Weekly Wrap Up (Jun. 28 - Jul. 4)

Well a Happy Independence Day to my neighbours to the south  Hopefully you were able to celebrate your national birthday this year in a unique but safe kind of way And a belated Happy Canada Day and Happy Somalia Independence Day on July 1st   So I was driving down the road the other day, and I had a weird thought, and wondering if any of you have pondered the same thing, or if not? When was the last time you saw a hood ornament? I think someone had a old Lincoln Continental in my par

Weekly Wrap Up (Jul. 5 - Jul. 11)

Well I never  😮  Usually I try to work a word of the day into the Weekly Wrap Up of late. Generally I try to look in everyday to check out the word of the day and see how I can use it in the wrap up. This week has been a hectic week and I have not been diligent in reading them everyday. So we find ourselves on a Saturday night and I check to see what word I can use, and I find this entry! I think this is the second time I have been used in an example of usage of the word, but wonderin

Weekly Wrap Up (Sept 16 - Sept 22)

So we had a bit lighter week here at the blog. It was a relief for me, I didn't have to get up at 3:30 AM EVERY morning to feature the blog of the day EVERY day     Actually Cia was up at 2 AM to write up the September Classic Author. When does she sleep?   Skip to Wednesday Cia slept in to 2:03 to give us the September Classic Author Excerpt   Friday, Cia brought us all this weeks Comicfan's Prompts of the Week:   Friday Comsie wrapped up the week wit

So, don't tell anyone  but I think Renee missed her hour of sleep this week  . This makes less work for me, and gives me something to tease her about  . I do have to admit that I don't have a lil' one under that age of 1 that I'm tending to day in and day out, so I guess I shall forgive her  Why don't we all share our love  .   On a more sad note, we have members in New Zealand that we should share our love with too  .   Monday, Renee introduced us to another featured story

I hope everyone has had a great weekend, and for those who celebrated, I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! Before we get into the wrap up, I'd like to remind everyone once again that the Winter Anthology is just around the corner. If you have a story that you plan to submit, the deadline is coming up fast. I hope to see even more stories come in over the next few days. Now, lets see what happened this past week.   For our Monday featured story, we had a review from LitLover of JohnAR's st

Weekly Wrap Up (Dec. 25 - Jan. 1)

Wow, this blog is going to cover A LOT of stuff. After all we are going to cover last year as well as this year too ! But if you were like me, it seems harder to remember the good stuff from last year, which there was, from the bad stuff . But we are in a new year with new expectations . I would like to remember a good friend of GA and to many on a more personal level as well, the passing of Comicfan. His contributions and participation on the site will always be in our memory   On the

A chance to become someone else, to come up with new and better ideas on how to scare someone, or revisit an old one. So if you are not into Halloween, why not join us and let your hair down and take in all the fun that we are having here at GA! Actually, why not comment simply your country, if y

Renee is away for the weekend attending a wedding. Since she isn't here, you are all stuck with me. Let me say that for a small fee, I will be selling pictures of Renee in her Bridesmaid dress   On Monday for our Featured Story, it was for our Signature Author for the month of May, Krista. We had her 2008 Anthology "Finding Alex" featured. Suvitar wrote a great review of this story and I believe enticed a few of us to go back and read it for the first time or maybe the second or third times.

Weekly Wrap Up (Apr. 23 - Apr. 29)

It appears that spring has finally sprung in my neck of the woods. All week we are supposed to be above 20 (68F) and by Thursday up to 27 (80.6 F)  I will need to be bringing out the SPF 2200 for that day 😊 Sure enough, I head back to the office grind on Monday, but I really can't complain about the temperatures as I was not going to let the weather dictate my vacation so I wore shorts and sandals every day 😎I do however hope that everyone that are experiencing adverse weather in their area are

As we started April, instead of a trick, we got a treat in the start of this month's Can't Stop Reading Book Club which this month is featuring Josh's Blog by Hosted Author CarlHoliday. We hope you join many in the community and read this great story so you can join in our discussion which will be held on Monday, April 29th!   Wednesday was again a wonderful entry in our monthly Ask an Author - we are so thankful to Dark for creating and managing this great look at various authors on the site.

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening and good night if you are heading to bed 🛌 I wonder how many of you did the age old tradition of making New Year's resolutions. We are 9 days into the New Year and I'm also curious if you are still maintaining your resolution, or has it fell by the wayside already 😮 I know of one person who is trying really, really hard to keep up their resolution, but wonder if is good for their mental health. I mean, they have been on the earth for nearly 4 decad

I hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween. Did you get lots of Trick-or-Treaters or did you hide from the ghosts and goblins that were prowling around the streets? For those who are in a place who practice Daylight Savings Time, did you remember to set your clocks back an hour before you went to bed?   We started out the week with the CSR Discussion Day. Cia asked a few of the authors for this month some Halloween related questions. The answers got really interesting and are definitely wo

Happy July - isn't the year moving fast? We started the month on Monday with our usual CSR Book Club Selection - this month we're looking at Author Rob Colton's The Degan Incident. Well I look outside and it is yet snowing again! This is the 3rd time it has snowed this week, but this time it is actually going to get cold. You all can think of me as I go to the Western Semi Final of the Canadian Football League between my Calgary Stampeders and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers! Will still be snowing tomorrow at game time and with the windchill it will be a balmy -22 C (7.6F). Add in fact that it is getting dark out at 4:50 PM now, it should be a great day!!! Weekly Wrap Up (Jan. 9 - Jan. 15)

Can you believe we are half the way through January  From my eyes and ears on the ground, I hear that some of the cold from Siberia to Canada has now hit down towards the south of the USA and Europe and beyond. So how is it in your neck of the woods? Any snow ball fights? Making snow angels? Is your dog refusing to go outside to do their business?  Well I promise we won't send the cold freezing weather to our friends in Australia and New Zealand  Well we had a slow week to start the GA Blog
