Ask An Author #17

The first Wednesday of the month, for anyone that follows the GA News Blog, you know what that means! It's time for another edition of "Ask An Author". For those new to the site (or to reading the blog), Ask An Author is our month feature provided by Dark. GA Members are able to send questions they'd like to ask their favorite author and Dark tries to get the answer and compile them in the monthly Ask An Author! Now, let's see what Dark has for us this month! Ask an Author #17   Welcome

Author Interview: Renee Stevens

In honor of this month's creepy critters theme, we featured Renee Stevens' story, Joined by Blood, with our October Signature Background. Who doesn't like vampires, right? If you like your vampires bad... this story has them! If you like your vampires good... this story has them! But figuring out which is which...? Maybe not so easy! If you haven't read it yet, you really should, but first, read this interview with Renee where you can learn some more about Interview: Renee Stevens on Joine

Blast From The Past

Cia went searching through old newsletters in a quest for some Blast from the Past material. She came across this wonderful interview by Kevin (aka: AFriendlyFace) in an October 2006 newsletter. Hope you enjoy the interview as well as Cia's introduction and conclusion. GA has inspired many readers to take the leap into writing, myself included! The writing information and programs found on the site have changed over the years, but that encouraging support has always been here. Check out thi

Author Interview: Mann Ramblings

Our featured story this month for the July Signature Background is "The Luxorian Fugitive" by Mann Ramblings. If you haven't already downloaded your background, the month is only half over and you still have plenty of time! We started out Signature Week with a great review that Jo Ann did, and now it's time to hear from the author himself. Hopefully you enjoy this interview that Cia did with Mann. The first Wednesday of the month, you know what that means! It's time for a visit from Dark with the ever popular, Ask an Author! Enjoy!!! Ask an Author #14   Welcome back to another quirky question and answer session with your favorite authors!   In AtA #13, we had questions for authors Andrew Q Gordon, Layla, and Nephylim.   In AtA #14,

Ask an Author 2.0 - #8

Welcome to a special edition of Ask an Author. Some members may not realize the individuals who help Gay Authors thrive are themselves authors. Most of them have stories on the site. My thanks to Renee Stevens for the suggestion leading to this blog entry.   @Renee Stevens provided the inspiration for this edition of Ask an Author so let’s start with her. Im hoping she gets to read this before Baby J comes bounding out! This is her take on an issue that has been previously discussed on

Interview: Dolores Esteban

Have you downloaded your copy of this month's signature background? If not, before you do so, check out this week's interview that Cia did with Dolores Esteban on her story Cold Case.   Interview with Dolores Esteban   Single people often have more time to write. Are you single? Yes, I’m single, but I don’t feel I have more time. No long evenings and lonely weekends   Are you a person who makes their bed in the morning, or do you not see much point? I make my bed in the morning.

Author Interview: Stellar

Have you downloaded January's Signature Background yet? If you haven't already done so, the month is only half over so there's still plenty of time! To go along with this month's background, we're happy to bring you today's interview with Stellar, courtesy of Cia. Enjoy! Interview: Stellar on " Hidden Sunlight"   Single people often have more time to write. Are you single? I think the correct phrase would be 'terminally single.' Being an Aspie makes it difficult to meet and connect wi

Here’s hoping this month’s issue proves as popular as the last one. We are back to one question for several authors but this month’s query is somewhat different from our usual fare. It does, however, dovetail nicely with Myr’s history of Gay Authors so many enjoyed in August. As usual, responses are in alphabetical order and posted as the respondent submitted them without editing. ҉ ҉ ҉ We are putting together a Gay Authors Time capsule. This capsule will be opened in 10 years. You hav

Many thanks for @wildone for covering for me last month. I didn't want anyone to think I had a big head to write the article where I answer Ask An Author questions. Speaking of big heads... Oh dear. Gay Authors community, I can confidently say none of you are ready for this month's edition of AAA. I know I've said that in a previous article, but this time, the seams might actually rip with this one. This is, without a doubt, the most difficult edition of Ask An Author 3.0 I have ever writte

Author Interview: Andrew_Q_Gordon

Have you downloaded your Signature Author Background yet? It's there, just waiting for you! Today we're continuing with Signature Week with an interview with Andrew_Q_Gordon on this month's story "Second Shot". Cia presented Andy with a list of questions which he was kind enough to answer and send back for us to share with you. Who knows, maybe one of these questions is one that you had! Ah, the first week of April! A fresh rain. Blooming flowers. The head-jerking reaction you'll have when a bee flies too close to your face. No? Huh. Guess that's just me then! I've never cared for bees, if I'm being honest. The memory of stepping on one barefoot when I was little is forever imprinted in my brain, and I've been careful to never get stung by one again. That, and the husband's allergic.  Anyway, on to more important details. It's the first Wednesday of the month, so let's Ask

We were granted a reprieve. I’ve received several questions since last month and Ask an Author will remain a feature for the next couple of months. Of course, that does not mean I am done asking you to submit new queries.   Seems asking several authors the same question’s becoming a thing. I kinda like it, since it allows us to explore different outlooks. Here’s this month’s question, and for the record, it does not matter if it has been asked before. Authors are listed in alphabetical

Author Interview: David Mcleod

It's time to continue with our Signature Week. This month's Signature Author Background features Dragon's Treasure by Signature Author David McLeod. Cia was kind enough to do an interview with David to help us get to know a bit more about both the author and the story. If you haven't already read, Dragon's Treasure, it's there, just waiting for you to take a gander at it! Now, let's see what David had to say!!! G’day! Anyone who’s read my CJ series knows I have a thing for Australia. Contrary to popular belief, it’s not due to the tiny bathing suits I saw blokes wear at Bondi Beach. Okay, fine, those may have influenced me a tad. When I realized I had questions for a couple of our Aussie authors, I asked two reliable blog followers for additional ones. The result is the first ever Ask an AUSTRALIAN Author feature. I’ve enjoyed stories from all these authors and suggest you give them a t

I swear we just had it! Where did it go? Did it fly away, or whiz past our eyes? Oh, well! April's gone and she won't be back until next year. Now we have May, and what a day to post the next Ask An Author! From this Star Wars fan, May the Fourth be with you.  While the featured story may not take place in a galaxy far, far away, we're still treated to a bit of fantasy. Welcoming back @C. Henderson, we'll be trading lightsabers for vampire fangs. Although the story's status says Temporary H

Happy 18th birthday, Ask an Author! After today, our little feature can vote but is still unable to drink legally in the United States. I think someone has been slipping it beers behind my back, though. I found it passed out in my computer complaining of a hangover. • • • • • @AC Benus, GA’s poetry guru and the author who gets the most questions will kick off the party. • When you're not writing your own stories and poems, you seem to spend a lot of your time commenting and r

During the dog days of summer, most South Floridians yearn for cooler, drier weather. If you are unfamiliar with the expression, it refers to days being so hot even dogs want to lay around moving as little as possible. August is the time most of us want to move to the Carolinas’ mountains to escape daily rain, tropical storms, and hurricanes. The Signature Authors profiled this month are well known and don’t require introduction. I’ll shut up now and let them answer their questions.

Wacky Wednesday: Interview With Altimexis

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far! On Monday we had a review of "Love In A Chair" by our Signature Author: Altimexis as a part of "Signature Week" here in a the Gay Authors News Blog. "Love In A Chair" was chosen for the February Background, if you haven't already downloaded your copy of the background, you can still do so by visiting the blog entry. To continue the "Signature Week" I sent Altimexis a few questions about "Love In A Chair" and he was kind enough to answer them for

Holy crap, I'm late! Well, not late late. I don't think Noah and I are ready for that kind of commitment. Maybe in a few years. Ooooooooooh, if Renee sees how late this is, I'm sure she'd throw something at me. Enough rambling; got's to get right into the interview! Hi there!   Although I have a couple of questions and responses predating the ones in this issue, I felt these responses were time sensitive. The question came in soon after someone claimed Ask An Author only featured established, popular authors. Wrooong! The member who sent in in suggested asking it of newer authors and provided a short list of candidates.   Here’s the message I sent out:   In case you haven't come across it, the first Wednesday of every month I c
