    Upcoming Events Reminder

    By Valkyrie

First, I'd like to wish all our American members a very Happy Thanksgiving!  I will be spending the day at my aunt's, stuffing my face with turkey and all the sides   I'd be perfectly happy with a plate full of stuffing and gravy, though.  🤤 I am thankful for everyone who makes this site as awesome as it is!  I'm also thankful for everyone who participates in site events, such as the anthologies and other contests run throughout the year.     Speaking of site events, we have two

Tim and the Corsair

Man, was I drunk last night, or what?   I haven't felt that bad in years. And, this morning!   I quit over-indulging for what happened this morning. I was sick. My stomach had a hole in it that still hasn't completely healed.   Anyway, that didn't stop me from getting Chapter 5 of The Pastel Cowboy posted on eFiction. I was hesitant in posting this chapter because it delves into a rather despicable area, but when I originally wrote this for Nifty I needed to get rid of a couple characters

Labor Day Weekend

The Labor Day weekend was pretty good. I did some organizing of paperwork, which is a nice, relaxing anal-retentive task. Scott and Sam think I am nuts for finding that relaxing.   We spent a lot of time outside this weekend. The weather was great and the pool was nice. I don't have a bandage to worry about anymore, so took advantage of the pool. We had a water balloon fight at one point. Scott accidentally hit me in the hand, which ended my participation. Stung like hell and I had a p

My day of hell

Well today was my first day back to school and all I can say is holy crap man.   The first thing I found out is that I'm not as good at math as I thought I was. I mean, we did some review problems on the board and we were just randomly calling out the variables to some really easy expressions as the teacher wrote them out, and after about the sixth one, I stopped calling out my answers because they were all wrong Maybe I just need to get back into the motions of school, but I felt so out o

I just want you to know who I am

Since Friday, I've seen him every single day. Today made me happy. He's just so darn cute! My friend (who's also a manager) kept telling us to stop flirting, and he never denied it. He just kind of smiled and looked down. At one point, I was folding shirts at the cash wrap and he was helping a customer, and he kind of pushed my stuff over and told me that I was invading his space. I retaliated with it actually being him invading my personal bubble, and when we were moving the stuff back

Redheads have more fun

So today has been totally awesome! I slept really late, caught up with some really fantastic people online ( 's to you guys ), finally got to talk to my friend Claire about her most recent break-up (I was really worried about her from her messages and stuff, but we kept missing each other's calls) and I think she's going to be okay.   Then I caught up on ALOT of household chores, and I'm almost completely done, and I'm just SO much more relaxed and happy when everything's really tidy and cl

When Metaphors Attack!

It is what we call earthquake weather here in Los Angeles. Well, not quite proper earthquake weather, the wind is not as still as a celebrity's last photograph, but as we did have a small shake down here this morning, it is hard to quibble. I've noticed that just about everyone who writes about Southern California uses the phrase "earthquake weather" at one point or another, so I thought it best to get it out of my system early so I wouldn't be bothered by it in my later years. I tend not to ass

Libris Magnus- I

I have been working on a project for a long time that I'm going to describe in the next few blog entries.   I began collecting e-books some time ago. At first it was just a few but as I began finding more and more sources for them, my ebooks collection became like a snowball rolling downhill getting bigger and bigger gathering momentum.   It wasn't too long before the management of this collection became a real chore. This library is now several hundred gigs in size and contains over 100,000

Outed? I think not

Ok, so I know it's 7 in the morning on Sundat, and I have no idea what the hell possesed me to wake up, but I am, so let's do this. I read the entire thread that Jack Scribe started about the article written about Senator Craig, and it makes for good reading. But I think the writer missed one important point: No one outed Senator Craig. That's right. He wasn't outed, he was arrested for soliciting sex in a public restroom. I won't even get into my thoughts on whether the police should have bee

Fantasies and Random Things about me

Hi all,   I've recently been corresponding with a new friend online and his questions/comments inspired the following passages from me. I decided I'd might as well share them here:   This one's poorly written, but the nature of the message was quick and casual, and I'm not going to edit it, because for some reason I instead feel that it's better to present it unaltered. Emotional Fantasy   There was a companion "Sexual Fantasy", but I'm not going to post it here since 1) it's pretty gra

Collecting Atta Boys

Well, I made it through the first four days of work and everyone is happy I'm there and picking up on the complexities of the job. It certainly isn't an easy job, not complicated, just lots of responsibilty. I guess the biggest boo-boo is putting the wrong trailers in a set and the driver not checking his load. Don't even want to go there.   So, I went in this afternoon to tell the boss I wanted to keep doing what I'm doing. He wasn't there, but the day dispatcher said she'd heard I was doing

Nearly two years, and coworker like skin rash

In a day or two, depending on your location, I will have been a member of this site for two years. It seems strange, that it has been two years. On the one hand, since I have done so little here, it feels like it has been hardly any time at all. On the other, since I have checked this site near daily during a a time when my entire world has come apart and brought back together, so that I am now quite a different person than I was when i first joined, I can hardly believe it has only been two yea

Sigh...

So this isn't really worth reading, so I'd just skip it. I just felt like gushing, and since I feel like I do it every time the smallest thing happens between him and I to my friends, I'm going to let it out here.   So the guy I really like at work is the most adorable guy ever. He's sweet, funny, really cute, and flirtatious. Oh. man. lol. Lately, he and I have been flirting quite a bit, but I don't want to read too into it because he just seems like a big flirt. (in a cute way though)

Birthday Ramblings

So my hair has been alot of different colours in the past few years. In fact it's been practically every semi-natural (and a few unnatural ) colours. However, it's most typically been some shade of red or blonde. Well it was blonde till last week, quite an understated blonde at that. Well I thought, "why not liven it up?". Of course I can no longer do really wacky colours with the job I have, so naturally I went with red. Red with blonde hi-lites actually, and when I fix it up properly it

It's a Goat

I drive a Goat.   Well, that's what they call it.   Doesn't look like a goat.   Doesn't smell like a goat.   Doesn't sound like a goat.   It drives like a truck with attitude.   The one I have to drive is the local piece of shit, but it's still a Goat.   Found out I still can't back in a straight line, even with a Goat to help.   My Goat pulled a bunch of trailers last night and, then, there wasn't much of anything to do.   My trainer, who also drives a Goat, said that about on

layers...

My angel ... Dezlboi, surprised me today with something that really touched my heart. Maybe it's cause I know the circumstances from which this was born, but it's also so much more than that. You know when you know someone, you love them, and you watch them struggle and grow through hard situations only to come out the other side stronger than before? It's like... I'm PROUD of him for doing what he needed to do, and though he's not singing to me, he means every word. I can feel the bravery, the

A New Story?

It's been a long time coming, but I've finally started working on a new story. No promises as to when I'm going to be able to start posting (I'd like to have at least a few chapters done before I post anything), but it's off to a good start and I seem to have found the inspiration I needed. It will also depend on if Sharon is still willing to edit for me ... *hint hint*   All I'm going to say about it so far is that baseball is a pretty major theme, and there are also some similar themes to SO

Night Stalker

I'm practicing staying up late because tomorrow night I really start my new job on the night shift 5 PM to 3:30 AM. Ten hours plus a half hour for lunch.   Luckily, I'll only have to do this four days a week. That raises a problem, though. Do I return to "normal" during the three off days, or do I continue my nighttime schedule?   I'm opting to become a night person. A lover of lunar light, ever searching for those airy beings who disappear in daylight.   For the foreseeable future, I'll b

Wasted, again

Nothing like a good dose of alcohol to deaden the gloomies, but that isn't a solution, been there, done that.   I finished orientation a day early. I was the only person in orientation and, since I'm going to be working out of the Puyallup Yard, I didn't need to know a lot of the stuff.   So, I'm home and I'm wasted, again. Too much Tequila, again.   Bonita missed me.   I'm not certain the wife did too. You can never tell about her. She has so many memories of her childhood, I can't tell
