Writing Prompts #456 & #457

Wow! Is it me or are the weeks flying by? Welcome to another Friday, and you know what that means don't you? Prompt time. As usual, I don't want to hold you up, but need everyone to remember that prompt responses under 1,000 words must be posted as part of a collection. Now, on to the prompts.   Prompt 456 – Creative   Tag – First Line   “How did I forget his birthday again?”   Prompt 457 – Creative   Tag – Spiders   To say you loath spiders would be a gross understatement. Writing Tip: So You Wanna Be An Author

For a while in the blog, we used to do "Blast from the Past" posts. All of these posts came from the old newsletter. I was struggling to figure out what to post for today, when I thought, why not check out the earlier posts of the revived blog. In looking back, I found the perfect post, and it happens to be the first "Writing Tip" that was posted when Lugh started the blog back up. I hope you find it informative.   If you want to check out the past comments on the original post, you can go c

Weekly Wrap Up!

I hope everyone had a great week! I think today I'm going to get right into the Wrap Up for the week.   Monday and Wednesday were all about K.C. and his story "A Grim Fairytale", which just so happens to be this month's Signature Author Background. On Monday, Cia wrote a review for the story and then on Wednesday she interviewed KC. If you haven't already checked them out, they're sitting there waiting.   Friday brought us a couple of new prompts from the prompt guru Comicfan. This week he g

Welcome back to another Friday Prompt Me! Yes, amazing how quickly the week seems to pass. Already those of us in the Northern Hemisphere are seeing the cooler temperatures moving in, the leaves changing colors, and announcement of snow. Seems that autumn is flying by. As it does hopefully people are taking time to enjoy things and perhaps even taking a bit of time to write again. Just the weekly reminder - Prompt responses under 1,000 words must be posted as part of a collection.   Considerin

Well here we are again at the start of another weekend. Yes, it is Friday and that means it is time to tempt you all with some new prompts. Now that October is underway, some people might find it nice to curl up with some apple cider, a slice of pumpkin pie, and write! As usual it is time to see if we can encourage new authors, revitalize lagging authors, and see if we can keep our usual crew pumping out new works. C S R Discussion Day: The Rainy Day By Graeme

Graeme's The Rainy Day is the CSR feature for September. I asked Graeme a series of questions about his time on GA and his story, which, considering the story is from a past anthology was kinda tricky of me. I hope you'll enjoy learning more about Graeme and his writing. He is a busy man, but he will be "live" on the site at 6 PM his time zone, which is 10 PM Pacific and 1 AM Eastern. For our night owls, YAY, and for the rest, make sure you add your questions beforehand so he can answer them the

Either way, I hope one of these two prompts grabs your attention and makes you want to write. Just remembe

The Ugly P Word

Which P word? Well it be similar to the way I stole that title from a Skype conversation with Wildone... Figured it out yet?   Plagiarism.   Yep, a thief struck again. I'm sure many of you remember my rant from a few weeks ago about how one of my stories, and 6 other authors' works were plagiarized on another site. A conversation ensued about how to protect your work, as an author, but I never had a chance to post it officially on the site. Well, this time we had a thief try to post their st

Today I'm featuring an interview with Rob as part of his Signature feature. Btw, did you download your copy of the background yet? Now, Rob is a popular man, so we've featured interviews with him in the past, so I didn't want to go with the usual author questions. This time I asked him a different series of questions, so I hope you'll enjoy this insight into the flash group, writing Noah's New Plan, and Rob's future plans!   What brought you to the Wednesday Briefers flash group? So, in honor of the title, and the general theme of Rob's story, Noah's New Plan, I decided to do something a little different this month for the review of the Signature Feature story. Instead of one reviewer giving us their take on the story, I asked a series of readers the same questions and asked them to pick a few to answer (and some picked all of them, lol). I hope you'll enjoy this new feature format, and don't forget to download your copy of the signature background for this month if you
