    Today's the Day!

    By Valkyrie

Anthology Stories are due today! Get those final touches done on your story and send it to me by midnight, EST tonight so I can get it assigned to a Proof Team member! There are lots of burning questions... Did we break the 20 story barrier? Who participated? How many stories did they write? When will the stories go live? Which theme has more stories? Of course, I'm not going to answer any of them now   You'll have to wait and anticipate!

Weekly Wrap Up (Sept. 13 - Sept. 19)

Sweet, sweet, sweet vacation   I may have been whining like a little baby about how much I have been working of late but I'm really happy to say as you are reading this blog, I'm going on a jet plane, I don't know when I will be back again. Who sang that  Actually I know when I'll be back again, the following Sunday  Oh well, it is a week away from the grind so to speak.  So, the 22nd is meteorological start of fall.  Now this has me baffled, where and when did we get all these, I

Weekly Wrap Up (Sept. 6 - Sept. 12)

I had something funny to tell you all, but that was yesterday  Think I can remember it now?  No. Maybe it is time to look at the shiny brochures.  So what is up in your neck of the woods? Nothing here other than the roads being busier at rush hour in the AM and afternoon with all the skewl busses and parents driving their kiddies to-and-fro, and university and college students rushing to make that first lecture of the day. Oh the good old days   Okay, call me STUPID, but I'm going to o

Anthology 101 - Submitting Your Story

Anthology stories are coming in, which is great!  I'll be working on getting authors paired with proofreaders soon, by the weekend at the latest.  I'll link to the full submission guidelines at the end of this blog, but I wanted to give a Cliff Notes version since we just had the Secret Author Contest and the submission guidelines are different for each event.   Anthology stories need to go through the Anthology Proof Team for a final check before being published.  The Proof Team does not r

Weekly Wrap Up (Aug. 30 - Sept. 5)

I want to send a hello out to Rudy Judy   Now that is out of the way, I get to explain that I was away from home all week. I went up to the lake and stayed at the cabin (cottage to you Eastern North American folks). I worked my job all week up there, but it was more tolerable with looking out the window at the mountains across the lake. The lake was quiet most of the week but all the jet skies and boat surfing (is that what they call it  ) made it noisy on Friday and brought back memories t

No more Secrets, right?

We know who wrote which story and won this year’s contest. Congratulations Gary L. And now? Watching the horizon thoughtfully and waiting for inspiration to strike? Or you could write a prompt story and maybe expand it…. PT Prompt #354 What if you could make objects talk? Heinrich Heine’s quill, for example. (I just saw it at a museum.) Which object would you choose, and what does it tell you?  PT Prompt #355 Five friends are playing a board game. After a while, they roll num
