Weekly Wrap Up (Sept. 28 - Oct. 4)

Rain, rain, go away and come back another day :(

Why you ask? They said such rain may just turn into the s*** word overnight :o While some people might be laughing their heads off, all I can wish on them is to have a long, damp, wet, rainy, cold winter  You know who you are :P

So a big huge thank you to Cia, my favourite admin the past 2 weeks :gikkle:, for helping me out with the Weekly Wrap Up. I'm glad you all showed her your love

I was off to Vancouver for a week to visit with family and friends, and the one consistent thing was that I ate too much food. All meetings of cousins, aunt and uncle, and some lifelong friends seemed to involved food :o Although the scale may not be clicking higher for now. I better get in a exercise routine before the winter sets in and all I want to do is hibernate. I wonder if a certain bear in Sweden is getting tired yet🧸.

Now I know we have a great range of readers of the Weekly Wrap Up, but I want to know no matter what age you are, would you consider yourself a fit person, and if so, what do you do to stay in shape? Are you 80 years old and up at 4 am to do a 5 mile jog daily? Are you 20 years old and can eat a restaurant out and just watch people work out and your metabolism speeds up enough to burn all those calories off? If you don't want to say if you are in shape or not, don't worry about it

Enough babbling by me, we had a busy week, I think, at the GA News Blog, so let's check in!

Monday, Cia was into wrap up September with the CSR Discussion Day. Did you read and participate?

Tuesday, Myr had to wear his fur lined cowboy boots and cowboy hat down to the lake to go for his Deep Dive:

Thursday, Valkyrie got out her typewriter and banged out an article on looking back and looking forward to our Special Events:

Friday, she was back again, with another couple of prompts for us to explore:

Words of the Day. Myr has made them a bit more tricky

quiescence, sublimatepensiveness, spleen, foreboding, exaltation, melancholia

You can have my rain, 3rd day in a row.

Chris, you'd better start building or buying a large boat before it reaches 40 days in a row.  Stock the boat full of supplies, and you can take your pets with you as well, but leave it to someone else to hit the zoos and round up the pairs of each animal species to take with them on a Carnival Cruise ship.

Exercise! I don't need no stinkin' exercise!

Once upon a time I lived in Boston, the big-little city that pulls up the rug incredibly early each night. But it's a great walkable city and I often did so, perambulating North, South (Although not too far South - lots of homeless and the too often associate drug addicted who hung out there :(), East and West. If I got tired the MBTA transit system was there to get me home.

Now, I live in the North Coast area of MA (So called because it's North of Boston ) and traveling on the MBTA takes lots of planning (Upwards of 2.5 hours each way to get to Boston. :o The border to Salem, which has already begun with the Halloween festivities, is a long block-and-a-half away but a bus trip takes 45 minutes to get to the core business district). I have no car and so I must walk (That's the exercise part) when possible (Barring torrential rains - we are in drought - or hurricane winds and blizzards). I chose the area because of the amenities such as pharmacies (2) and grocery stores (2) are within reach of a short or longer hike (just over a mile or just over two miles round trip), I get to choose. I also must walk down and walk back up a good-sized hillock to begin and end my trips as part of the walking mileage.

I've lived in a motel room since November and I no longer have a car and even if I did, I'm now blind in one eye and probably shouldn't drive anyway.

As for exercise, does walking from my laptop to my spacious bathroom count? I stopped running when I stopped playing softball in the city leagues. We won't talk about the other type of runs.

As for rain, the sunshine state may be a nickname, but it's highly misleading, except when it's not liquid sunshine.

Am I fit? Fit to be tied maybe, but not otherwise.

I do give my eyes, or one eye plenty of exercise reading awesome stories here on GA by some very talented authors.

Shout out to the staff that keeps GA interesting and flowing like the mighty Mississippi.
