Weekly Wrap Up (Feb. 15 - Feb. 21)

Now you all must be wondering, what are you doing up at 5:15 AM in the morning

I have succumbed to the hockey bug and I am awake for in a little under an hour, I will be watching Team USA play Team Canada for the Olympic Gold Medal :D in Hockey :Steve2:. Interesting thing, I can head to the bar right now and watch the game if I'm so inclined and have some beers with my closest Canadian fans 🍺 Yes, a lot of provinces in Canada allow for bars to open for Olympic Gold Medal Events. Not sure if there was many people in the bar for the 50K Cross Country Ski Race though :P

So repeat after me, Go Canada Go! :gikkle:

Now onto this time of year :( I'm sure since the US of A is a month earlier than Canada but are all of you  being flooded with advertisements on taxes. That leads me to the question of the week. Do you do taxes? I know some of the US have no state taxes, but do you still have to file for federal taxes? What about over in the UK, or Germany, Australia, is this tax season too? If you do do taxes, is do do correct English 😮, do you use pen and paper and mail them in, tax software, an accountant, or maybe pay for something like H&R Block, who are usually accountants but are more reasonable than a full fledge bean counter you pay year round.

Now a bit of a personal question, do you pay or get money back? :P You don't have to answer. I usually get back so maybe that is why I have a smile on my face every spring ;) Now if this conversation makes you , then I know your answer.

Well enough about hockey and taxes, note I did not say death and taxes.

Monday, it was a brand new Signature Feature. Never heard of this Author, have you?

Tuesday was Myr at the plate, he lobed an all new Genre Review, History! I'm sure this will not give you nightmares like in high school. Or maybe it will :):

Then on Wednesday, you know who was back once again to follow up with the Signature Feature Excerpt:

Before we discuss Thursday, we have just over a month to get our Poetry Anthologies in 😮 Oh dear, oh my! Well don't give up hope, Val is here to help out:

Now the other day I saw a drunken Canada Goose flying north to Canada in February in -30 weather, so I thought Aditus had sent Val the prompts and she had wrangled a goose and tied the Prompt onto its leg to drop off to me, so I wouldn't forget to post about it in the Wrap Up. Unfortunately said goose did not drop the prompts off but something else 💩 :

Words of the Day come easily some days and some days they do not. How were they for you this week?

gentle, affinity, friction, defiance, strain, clash, brink

I believe the ideal tax result is no need to pay more taxes and to get nothing back or as little coming back as possible because otherwise you've given your government an interest free loan.

I've always hated doing taxes as math and I are mortal enemies. Thankfully the advent of online programs is most likely the reason I haven't been involuntarily committed or incarcerated.

Ours are done and I had to do federal, plus two states(MA & CT). I lucked out with Florida as they have no state income tax. We are getting a healthy chunk back this year which is nice. I'll finally have heat in my car again. Yay! Just in time to switch to AC lol.

Oh Lord, ruin a perfectly good Sunday with mention of taxes.  While Texas does not have a state income tax, as evident by our woeful education system as well as horrible healthcare; the federal taxes I get stuck paying are enough to ruin my mood.

I thought once I was finished with Super Bowl I could go an entire year without hearing about Sports Balls Games.

I started to despise you with your hockey talk.

Then you mentioned taxes and I started to love you again. I'm a business owner, I get so many deductions you'd think I had five kids.

Why do people with kids get better tax breaks? I'm childless and have little to no drag on the system. People with kids use the system more, doctors, schools, whatever Chucky-E-Cheese is, they should be paying more in taxes to cover their hordes clogging up the streets with traffic.

And since I love you again, I will be sending all my best hopes to those Maple Leafs or Maple Syrup, whatever your team is called, in a royal pounding of our American team. Let's do Heated Riverly 2, but with gay people playing straight roles. This time its Fabulous!

And since that drunken goose left you presents from above, I could come up there and help you clean it all off. I love the snow!  Just say the word and I'll hop on a dog sled and come mushing to the rescue.

We seem to have a complicated relationship :P

I agree about being childless, but it is a mindset that we haven't gone forth and procreated and we are greedily keeping all our money to ourselves. Not sure if that will change.

And yes, Val, I watch us lose to those pesky 'mericans :P

Well, our Aussies finished the Winter games with a record medal haul of 6 medals ... not bad for a country that is mostly desert! LOL

Three Gold, two Silver and a Bronze! So go Aussie go! :)

And not to be a pain, but I did add two chapters to The Prisoner of Carronne last week. Just sayin! lol

Keep up the good work though. It's always good to see a summary of stories so we can go check them out!

Taxes are done, refunds already in the bank. I have a CPA do mine as the last couple of years were complicated with a house purchase, an ugly property division and sale. It's water under the bridge now, next yr will be much easier...

I've always thought of hockey as boxing on ice, that and I can never follow the puck...

Looking out my window at the moment, the classic New England nor-easter is greeting us, just what we need, more frigging snow! It's been so cold that what we already have hasn't melted much, and it is nearly up to my backside!!!
