Do you have a favorite song lyric?

I'm a huge music fan, and I always find myself attracted to the lyrics of songs specifically. So what are your favorites?

Here are some of mine:

"If your born with a love of the wrote and the writ

People of letters your warning stands clear

Pay heed to your heart and not to your wit

Don't say in a letter what you can't in my ear" - The Wrote and the Writ by Johnny Flynn

"I said, 'Honey, I don't feel so good, don't feel justified.

Come on put a little love here in my void.'

He said, 'It's all in your head."

I said, 'So's everything.'

But he didn't get it.

I thought he was a man, but he was just a little boy"- Paper Bag by Fiona Apple

and this one always makes me laugh

"Her name was McGill,

and she called her self Lill,

but everyone knew her as Nancy.

Now she and her man,

who called himself Dan,

were in the next room at the hoedown." - Rocky Racoon by The Beatles

Yes of course I love lyrics.

" It could all be so simple, but you'd rather make it hard. Loving you is like a battle and we both end up with scars. Tell me who I have to be, to gain some reciprocity. See no one loves you more, and no one ever will" - Ex factor by Lauryn Hill

"Moment of honesty, someones gotta take the lead tonite. Whose it gonna be? I'm gonna sit right here and tell you that comes to me. If you got somethig to say you should say it right now. You give me a feeling that I never felt before and I deserve it yeah I think I deserve it." -Unthinkable (I'm Ready) by Alicia Keys

"A star fell from your eyes and landed on my heart, it caused a spark we lit the dark. A fire burned on my lips, and it caused a scar we'll never part you left your mark. Dont hate me cause im free, ain't nothing touching me. These walls I run through for he, cause I got you and you got me. I'm bulletproof cause I love you" -Bulletproof by Dawn Richard

"I'm self made to the maximum, and I ain't stepping on know toes man I'm smashing them. And I'm cashing a whole alot of checks, man it's over for you hoes cause I got next. Haters all around me feel like boulders on my shoulders, dead weight n***** stay the f**k away from Lola. Remember when I left the group you act like you ain't know her. Now you see me at the Grammys with a phantom and a chauffeur. It's necessary! Fly! It's Necessary! Y'all know you f**kin with the best bitch I'm legendary, anything you doin next to me my n***** secondary. Gotta keep it real for my peeps, cause it's necessary" -Necessary by Gangsta Boo

WOW! there are so many i cant even begin ti name... but... here are a few

Ella Fitzgerald: Desafinado

Love is like a never-ending melody

Poets have compared it to a symphony

A symphony conducted by the lighting of the moon

But our song of love is slightly out of tune

Rufus Wainwright: Hallelujah

There was a time you let me know whats really going on below, but now you never show it to me, do you? (and)

Remember when I moved in you; the holy dark was moving too, and every breath we drew was Hallelujah

Moths: Jethro Tull ( Heavy Horses) I just LOVE this song

The leaded window opened

to move the dancing candle flame

And the first Moths of summer

suicidal came.

And a new breeze chattered

in its May-bud tenderness ---

Sending water-lillies sailing

as she turned to get undressed.

And the long night awakened

and we soared on powdered wings ---

Circling our tomorrows

in the wary month of Spring.

Chasing shadows slipping

in a magic lantern slide ---

Creatures of the candle

on a night-light-ride.

Dipping and weaving --- flutter

through the golden needle's eye

in our haystack madness. Butterfly-stroking

on a Spring-tide high.

Life's too long (as the Lemming said)

as the candle burned and the Moths were wed.

And we'll all burn together as the wick grows higher ---

before the candle's dead.

The leaded window opened

to move the dancing candle flame.

And the first moths of summer

suicidal came

to join in the worship

of the light that never dies

in a moment's reflection

of two moths spinning in her eyes.

Midnight Rider: Allman Brothers' Band

Well, I've got to run to keep from hidin',

And I'm bound to keep on ridin'.

And I've got one more silver dollar,

But I'm not gonna let 'em catch me, no,

Not gonna let 'em catch the Midnight Rider.

And I don't own the clothes I'm wearing,

And the road goes on forever,

And I've got one more silver dollar,

But I'm not gonna let 'em catch me, no

Not gonna let 'em catch the Midnight Rider.

And I've gone past the point of caring,

Some old bed I'll soon be sharing,

And I've got one more silver dollar,

But I'm not gonna let 'em catch me, no

Not gonna let 'em catch the Midnight Rider.

I have a few songs but these couple hit home and I listen to them if I'm in a reflective mood especially. Yeah I like how bands like Bullet and Linkin Park can make lyrics that hit so hard. Songs are mostly about the lyrics for me :)

Bullet for my Valentine: A place where you Belong

You're gone.

You're gone.

Your body's cold,

Hope is lost,

I cant let go.

Can I die with you so we can never grow old?

Cut the ties,

With this note you left behind,

As I read the words I hear you telling me why.

Too late, too late,

I never said goodbye

Too late, too late,

Cant even ask you why.

Now I'm wasting,

Away in my own misery.

I hope you're finally gone,

To a place where you belong.

My sadness shows,

As your name is carved in stone,

Cant erase the words so the reality grows.

I wish I died,

On that night right by your side,

So just kill me now and let the good times roll.

Too late, too late,

I never said goodbye

Too late, too late,

Cant even ask you why.

Now I'm wasting,

Away in my own misery.

I hope you're finally gone,

To a place where you belong.

Will you wait for me?

Will I see you on the other side?

You wont have to wait too long.

(Yeah, yeah)

Will you come for me?

Will you take me to the other side?

Cause here I don't belong.

Too late, too late,

I never said goodbye

Too late, too late,

Cant even ask you why.

Now I'm wasting,

Away in my own misery.

I hope you're finally gone,

To a place where you belong.

I never said goodbye

Cant even ask you why.

Now I'm wasting,

Away in my own misery.

I hope you're finally gone,

To a place where you belong.

Linkin Park: Leave out all the rest.

I dreamed I was missing

You were so scared

But no one would listen

Cause no one else cared

After my dreaming

I woke with this fear

What am I leaving

When I'm done here

So if you're asking me

I want you to know

[Chorus]

When my time comes

Forget the wrong that I've done

Help me leave behind some

Reasons to be missed

And don't resent me

And when you're feeling empty

Keep me in your memory

Leave out all the rest

Leave out all the rest

[End Chorus]

Don't be afraid

I've taken my beating

I've shared what I made

I'm strong on the surface

Not all the way through

I've never been perfect

But neither have you

So if you're asking me

I want you to know

[Chorus]

When my time comes

Forget the wrong that I've done

Help me leave behind some

Reasons to be missed

Don't resent me

And when you're feeling empty

Keep me in your memory

Leave out all the rest

Leave out all the rest

[End Chorus]

Forgetting

All the hurt inside

You've learned to hide so well

Pretending

Someone else can come and save me from myself

I can't be who you are

[Chorus]

When my time comes

Forget the wrong that I've done

Help me leave behind some

Reasons to be missed

Don't resent me

And when you're feeling empty

Keep me in your memory

Leave out all the rest

Leave out all the rest

Forgetting

All the hurt inside

You've learned to hide so well

Pretending

Someone else can come and save me from myself

I can't be who you are

I can't be who you are

Linkin Park: Iridescent

You were standing in the wake of devastation,

And you were waiting on the edge of the unknown.

And with the cataclysm raining down,

Insides crying, "Save me now",

You were there, impossibly alone.

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?

You build up hope, but failure's all you've known.

Remember all the sadness and frustration,

And let it go,

Let it go.

And in a burst of light that blinded every angel,

As if the sky had blown the heavens into stars,

You felt the gravity of tempered grace,

Falling into empty space,

No one there to catch you in their arms.

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?

You build up hope, but failure's all you've known.

Remember all the sadness and frustration,

And let it go,

Let it go.

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?

You build up hope, but failure's all you've known.

Remember all the sadness and frustration,

And let it go,

Let it go.

Let it go,

Let it go,

Let it go.

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?

You build up hope, but failure's all you've known.

Remember all the sadness and frustration,

And let it go,

Let it go.

There are more but three is plenty for now :P

I have a few!

Simple Plan: Welcome to my life

This one is the story of my life for at least the past few years. It describes what I feel perfectly.

Do you ever feel like breaking down?

Do you ever feel out of place?

Like somehow you just don't belong

And no one understands you

Do you ever want to run away?

Do you lock yourself in your room?

With the radio on turned up so loud

That no one hears you screaming

No you don't know what it's like

When nothing feels alright

You don't know what it's like

To be like me

To be hurt, to feel lost

To be left out in the dark

To be kicked when you're down

You feel like you've been pushed around

To be on the edge of breaking down

And no one's there to save you

No you don't know what it's like

Welcome to my life

Do you wanna be somebody else?

Are you sick of feeling so left out?

Are you desperate to find something more

Before your life is over?

Are you stuck inside a world you hate?

Are you sick of everyone around?

With their big fake smiles and stupid lies

While deep inside you're bleeding

No you don't know what it's like

When nothing feels alright

You don't know what it's like

To be like me

To be hurt, to feel lost

To be left out in the dark

To be kicked when you're down

You feel like you've been pushed around

To be on the edge of breaking down

And no one's there to save you

No you don't know what it's like

Welcome to my life

No one ever lied straight to your face

And no one ever stabbed you in the back

You might think I'm happy

But I'm not gonna be ok

Everybody always gave you what you wanted

You never had to work

It was always there

You don't know what it's like

What it's like

To be hurt, to feel lost

To be left out in the dark

To be kicked when you're down

You feel like you've been pushed around

To be on the edge of breaking down

And no one's there to save you

No you don't know what it's like (what it's like)

To be hurt

To feel lost

To be left out in the dark

To be kicked

When you're down

You feel like you've been pushed around

To be on the edge of breaking down

And no one's there to save you

No you don't know what it's like

Welcome to my life

Welcome to my life

Welcome to my life

then P!nk: Raise Your Glass

Really any P!nk song is amazing but this one is especially special if only I can do what P!nk says...

So raise your glass if you are wrong,

In all the right ways,

All my underdogs,

We will never be never be anything but loud

And nitty gritty dirty little freaks

Won't you come on and come on and raise your glass,

Just come on and come on and raise your glass

That's just the chorus.

Um and I'm thinking I'll end it there even though there are sooo many others!

R.E.M. Losing My Religion

Peter Buck, Michael Mills, William Berry, Michael Stipe

Oh, life is bigger

It's bigger than you

And you are not me

The lengths that I will go to

The distance in your eyes

Uh Oh no, I've said too much

I set it up

(Chorus)

That's me in the corner

That's me in the spotlight, I'm

Losing my religion

Trying to keep up with you

And I don't know if I can do it

Uh Oh no, I've said too much

I haven't said enough

I thought that I heard you laughing

I thought that I heard you sing

(sing sing sing)

I think I thought I saw you try

Every whisper

Of every waking hour I'm

Choosing my confessions

Trying to keep an eye on you

Like a hurt lost and blinded fool, fool

Uh Oh no, I've said too much

I set it up

Consider this

Consider this

The hint of the century

Consider this

The slip that brought me

To my knees failed

What if all these fantasies

Come flailing around

Now I've said too much

I thought that I heard you laughing

I thought that I heard you sing

I think I thought I saw you try

But that was just a dream

That was just a dream

(Repeat Chorus)

But that was just a dream

Try, cry, why try?

That was just a dream

Just a dream, just a dream

Dream

When I was in high school amd my

boyfriend and I weren't out, this

this was our favorite song because

it described exactly what we were

feeling about our relationship.

Boyzone: No Matter What

Andrew Lloyd Webber, Jim Steinman

No matter what they tell us

No matter what they do

No matter what they teach us

What we believe is true

No matter what they call us

However they attack

No matter where they take us

We'll find our own way back

I can't deny what I believe

I can't be what I'm not

I know I'll love forever

I know, no matter what

If only tears were laughter

If only night was day

If only prayers were answered

Then we would hear God say

No matter what they tell you

No matter what they do

No matter what they teach you

What you believe is true

And I will keep you safe and strong

And sheltered from the storm

No matter where it's barren

A dream is being born

No matter who they follow

No matter where they lead

No matter how they judge us

I'll be everyone you need

No matter if the sun don't shine

Or if the skies are blue

No matter what the end is

My life began with you

I can't deny what I believe

I can't be what I'm not

I know, I know

I know this love's forever

That's all that matters now

No matter what

This is the theme song to my life!

Father of Mine by Everclear

Father of mine

Tell me where have you been

You know I just closed my eyes

My whole world disappeared

Father of mine

Take me back to the day

When I was still your golden boy

Back before you went away

I remember the blue skies, walking the block

I loved it when you held me high

I loved to hear you talk

You would take me to the movie

You would take me to the beach

Take me to a place inside that is so hard to reach

Father of mine

Tell me where did you go

You had the world inside your hand

But you did not seem to know

Father of mine

Tell me what do you see

When you look back at your wasted life and you don't see me

I was ten years old

Doing all that I could

It wasn't easy for me to be a scared white boy in a black neighborhood

Sometimes you would send me a birthday card

With a five dollar bill

I never understood you then and I guess I never will

Daddy gave me a name

My dad he gave me a name

Then he walked away

Daddy gave me a name

Then he walked away

My dad he gave me a name

Father of mine

Tell me where have you been

I just closed my eyes

And the world disappeared

Father of mine

Tell me how do you sleep

With the children you abandoned

And the wife I saw you beat

I will never be safe

I will never be sane

I will always be weird inside

I will always be lame

Now I am a grown man

With a child of my own

And I swear I'm not going to let her know

All the pain I have known

Then he walked away

Daddy gave me a name

Then he walked away

"I know that the spades are the swords of a soldier

I know that the clubs are weapons of war

I know that diamonds mean money for this art

But that's not the shape of my hear"

I have! Title says 'favorite' so here it is;

"Littlest Things" by Lily Allen

Sometimes I find myself sittin' back and reminiscing

Especially when I have to watch other people kissin'

And I remember when you started callin' me your miss's

All the play fightin', all the flirtatious disses

I'd tell you sad stories about my childhood

I don't why I trusted you but I knew that I could

We'd spend the whole weekend lying in our own dirt

I was just so happy in your boxers and your t-shirt

[Chorus]

Dreams, Dreams

Of when we had just started things

Dreams of you and me

It seems, It seems

That I can't shake those memories

I wonder if you have the same dreams too.

The littlest things that take me there

I know it sounds lame but its so true

I know its not right, but it seems unfair

That the things are reminding me of you

Sometimes I wish we could just pretend

Even if only for one weekend

So come on, Tell me

Is this the end?

Drinkin' tea in bed

Watching DVD's

When I discovered all your dirty grotty magazines

You take me out shopping and all we'd buy is trainers

As if we ever needed anything to entertain us

the first time that you introduced me to your friends

and you could tell I was nervous, so you held my hand

when I was feeling down, you made that face you do

There's no one in the world that could replace you

[Chorus]

Dreams, Dreams

Of when we had just started things

Dreams of me and you

It seems, It seems

That I can't shake those memories

I wonder if you feel the same way too

The littlest things that take me there

I know it sounds lame but its so true

I know its not right, but it seems unfair

That the things reminding me of you

Sometimes I wish we could just pretend

Even if only for one weekend

So come on, Tell me

Is this the end?

And I'm in love with the song. I know some days have the song played for hours.

Pour Me- By Hollywood Undead

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cI1C5JXEcsk&feature=player_embedded#at=54

Pour me, pour me, pour me another,

It haunts me, haunts me,

Like no other,

One more drink, then I swear that I'm going home,

Truth is, I don't really have a place to go,

So pour me, pour me, pour me another.

I wake up right about the mid-afternoon,

With the sun in the sky but nights coming soon,

I walk to the mirror just to fix myself,

Yeah life gets harder when you love nothing else,

So I pick my pills from the counter drawer,

Pick my self-esteem up off the f**king floor,

I guess I'm a man of no recourse,

As I crack another bottle, got no remorse,

And I'll say a little prayer for the child in me,

I swear I used to be what I truly believe,

That I'm not just a man with these broken dreams,

Even I could go to heaven,

If I'm part deceased,

So...

Pour me, pour me, pour me another,

It haunts me, haunts me,

Like no other,

One more drink, then I swear that I'm going home,

Truth is, I don't really have a place to go,

So pour me, pour me, pour me another.

People get sick when they watch you bleed,

When you fell from the top, boy you better believe,

At the bottom, they got just, yeah, just what you need,

Well at the bottom, you can't swim 'cause you drank up the sea,

Then we stop and we look up to the sky,

They don't ask any questions, they ask us why?

Don't have any answers, don't know what to say,

Our knees are getting tired,

Too tired to pray,

That's when we laid down the end of the road,

We all seem to walk and I guess walking alone,

And I'm not just a man with these broken dreams,

Even I could go to heaven,

If I'm part deceased.

Pour me, pour me, pour me another,

It haunts me, haunts me,

Like no other,

One more drink, then I swear that I'm going home,

Truth is, I don't really have a place to go,

So pour me, pour me, pour me another.

Time just seems to go on and on,

On and on,

And on and on,

Life inside a bottle all alone,

All alone,

The bottles gone,

I'm not just a man with these broken dreams,

Even I could go to heaven,

If I'm part deceased,

Whats life inside a bottle if it's cold?

One more song and I'm finally free,

I'll meet you here in heaven, between the sea,

'Cause I'm not just a man with these broken dreams,

Even I could go to heaven,

If I'm part deceased.

So...

Pour me, pour me, pour me another,

It haunts me, haunts me,

Like no other,

One more drink, then I swear that I'm going home,

Truth is, I don't really have a place to go,

So pour me, pour me, pour me another.

Pour me, pour me, pour me, pour me,

Pour me another,

Pour me, pour me, pour me, pour me,

Pour me another.

OMG! I love that one!

I Love that song too it's one of my favorites. I am also glad i found this thread. I have a lot of favorite lyrics, those that just stick out as your favorite parts of the song.

"So I own not a notion i escape and ape content. I don't own emotion I rent." What You Own from the musical RENT-lyrics by Jonathan larson

When you say you love me by Josh Groban

Like the sound of silence calling,

I hear your voice and suddenly

I'm falling, lost in a dream.

Like the echoes of our souls are meeting,

You say those words and my heart stops beating.

I wonder what it means.

What could it be that comes over me?

At times I can't move.

At times I can hardly breathe.

When you say you love me

The world goes still, so still inside and

When you say you love me

For a moment, there's no one else alive

You're the one I've always thought of.

I don't know how, but I feel sheltered in your love.

You're where I belong.

And when you're with me if I close my eyes,

There are times I swear I feel like I can fly

For a moment in time.

[ From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/j/josh-groban-lyrics/when-you-say-you-love-me-lyrics.html]

Somewhere between the Heavens and Earth ,

And frozen in time, Oh when you say those words.

When you say you love me

The world goes still, so still inside and

When you say you love me

For a moment, there's no one else alive

[bridge:]

And this journey that we're on.

How far we've come and I celebrate every moment.

And when you say you love me,

That's all you have to say.

I'll always feel this way.

When you say you love me

The world goes still, so still inside and

When you say you love me

In that moment,I know why I'm alive

When you say you love me.

When you say you love me.

Do you know how I love you?

To Make you Feel my Love lyrics by bob dylan

When the rain

Is blowing in your face

And the whole world

Is on your case

I could offer you

A warm embrace

To make you feel my love

When the evening shadows

And the stars appear

And there is no one there

To dry your tears

I could hold you

For a million years

To make you feel my love

[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/a/adele/make_you_feel_my_love.html ]

I know you

Haven't made

Your mind up yet

But I would never

Do you wrong

I've known it

From the moment

That we met

No doubt in my mind

Where you belong

I'd go hungry

I'd go black and blue

I'd go crawling

Down the avenue

No, there's nothing

That I wouldn't do

To make you feel my love

The storms are raging

On the rolling sea

And on the highway of regret

Though winds of change

Are blowing wild and free

You ain't seen nothing

Like me yet

I could make you happy

Make your dreams come true

Nothing that I wouldn't do

Go to the ends

Of the Earth for you

To make you feel my love

i'll have to think of more Posted Image

Call and Answer by Bare Naked Ladies

I think it's getting to the point

where I can be myself again

It's getting to the point

where we have almost made amends

I think it's the getting to the point

that is the hardest part.

And if you call, I will answer

and if you fall, I'll pick you up

and if you court this disaster

I'll point you home

I'll point you home

You think I only think about you

when we're both in the same room

I'm only here to witness

the remains of love exhumed

You think we're here to play

a game of who loves more than whom

And if you call, I will answer

and if you fall, I'll pick you up

and if you court this disaster

You think it's only fair to do what's

best for you and you alone

It's only fair to do the same

to me when you're not home

I think it's time to make this something that is

more than only fair

So if you call, I will answer

and if you fall, I'll pick you up

and if you court this disaster

I'll point you home.

But I'm warning you, don't ever do

those crazy, messed up things that you do

If you ever do

I promise you I'll be the first to crucify you

Now it's time to prove that you've come back here

To Rebuild

Rebuild

Rebuild

Rebuild

You could be my unintended

Choice to live my life extended

You could be the one I'll always love

You could be the one who listens to my deepest inquisitions

You could be the one I'll always love

I'll be there as soon as I can

But I'm busy mending broken pieces of the life I had before

First there was the one who challenged

All my dreams and all my balance

She could never be as good as you

You could be my unintended

Choice to live my life extended

You should be the one I'll always love

I'll be there as soon as I can

But I'm busy mending broken pieces of the life I had before

I'll be there as soon as I can

But I'm busy mending broken pieces of the life I had before

These two songs went from favorites of the moment to my all time favorites list after the first few times I heard them.

Nickleback, Never gonna be alone. Some people might this to be a depressing song but i for one love it. To me it's not depression, its about commitment and devotion.

Time, is going by, so much faster than I

And I'm starting to regret not spending all of here with you

Now I'm wondering why I've kept this bottled inside

So I'm starting to regret not selling all of it to you

So if I haven't yet, I've gotta let you know

You're never gonna be alone from this moment on

If you ever feel like letting go, I won't let you fall

You're never gonna be alone, I'll hold you 'til the hurt is gone

And now, as long as I can, I'm holding on with both hands

'Cause forever I believe

That there's nothing I could need but you

So if I haven't yet, I've gotta let you know

You're never gonna be alone from this moment on

If you ever feel like letting go, I won't let you fall

When all hope is gone, I know that you can carry on

[ From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/n/nickelback-lyrics/never-gonna-be-alone-lyrics.html ]

We're gonna see the world out, I'll hold you 'til the hurt is gone

Oh, you've gotta live every single day

Like it's the only one, what if tomorrow never comes?

Don't let it slip away, could be our only one

You know it's only just begun, every single day

Maybe our only one, what if tomorrow never comes?

Tomorrow never comes

Time is going by so much faster than I

And I'm starting to regret not telling all of this to you

You're never gonna be alone from this moment on

If you ever feel like letting go, I won't let you fall

When all hope is gone, I know that you can carry on

We're gonna see the world out, I'll hold you 'til the hurt is gone

I'm gonna be there always

I won't be missing a word all day

I'm gonna be there always

I won't be missing a word all day

Rodney Atkins Take a back road. I love this song for the simple fact that I sympathize so much with it. Pure and simple.

Sit in that six lane backed up traffic

Horns are honking, I've about had it

I'm looking for an exit sign

Gotta get out of here, get it all off my mind

And like a memory from your grandpa's attic

A song comes slippin through the radio static

Changing my mood, a little George Strait 1982

Chorus

And it makes me wanna take a back road

Makes me wanna take the long way home

Put a little gravel in my travel

Unwind, unravel all night long

Makes me wanna grab my honey

Tear down some two-lane country, who knows

Get lost and get right with my soul

Makes wanna take, makes me wanna

Take a back road

I've been cooked up, fried down, about forgotten

What a field looks like, full of corn and cotton

If I'm gonna hit a traffic jam,

Well it better be a tractor man

So sick and tired of this interstate system

I need a curve and wide a twistin

Dusty path to nowhere

With the wind blowing through my baby's hair

(repeat chorus)

Bridge

Maybe it's the feeling or maybe it's the freedom

Maybe it's that shady spot

Where park that truck when things get hot

They were park the truck when the things get hot

(repeat chorus)

Some old back road, get right with my soul

Now all I gotta do is take some old back road

To the shady spot where things get hot ooh

Way down, way down, way down some old back road

"Tonight, Tonight"

Time is never time at all

You can never ever leave without leaving a piece of youth

And our lives are forever changed

We will never be the same

The more you change the less you feel

Believe, believe in me, believe

That life can change, that you're not stuck in vain

We're not the same, we're different tonight

Tonight, so bright

Tonight

And you know you're never sure

But you're sure you could be right

If you held yourself up to the light

And the embers never fade in your city by the lake

The place where you were born

Believe, believe in me, believe

In the resolute urgency of now

And if you believe there's not a chance tonight

Tonight, so bright

Tonight

We'll crucify the insincere tonight

We'll make things right, we'll feel it all tonight

We'll find a way to offer up the night tonight

The indescribable moments of your life tonight

The impossible is possible tonight

Believe in me as I believe in you, tonight

One of my favourite favourite favouritest songs in the whole wide world (I think that all the songs on the album 'Ghost' have fantastic lyrics... but this one's my favourite..........)

Radical Face, ' Welcome Home' -

Sleep don't visit, so I choke on sun, let the days burn into one.

The backs of my eyes, all the things i've never done

Sheets are swaying on an old clothesline, like a row of captured ghosts over old dead grass.

Was never much but we made the most...

Welcome home...

Ships are launching from my chest, some have names but most do not.

If you find one please, let me know what piece i've lost.

Heal the scars from off my back, i don't need them anymore.

you can throw them out, or keep them in your Mason jars...

I've come home...

All my nightmares escaped my head, bar the door, please don't let them in.

You were never supposed to leave, now my head's splitting at the seams...

and i don't know if i can...

( Here, beneath my lungs,

i feel your thumbs press into my skin again... )

Quite possibly because of where I am in the story I am writing, but I like these old, trite lyrics:

“And now I'm glad Ididn't know

the way it all would end,

the way it all would go.

Our lives are betterleft to chance.

I could have missed thepain, but I'd of had to miss the dance.”
