Where is it from: Classics Only

Brink told me I had to come in here and contribute, as no one's posted a new one in ages. So, I decided to do as he asked.

Tall and rather thin but upright, the Director advanced into the room. He had a long chin and big, rather prominent teeth, just covered, when he was not talking, by his full, floridly curved lips. Old, young? Thirty? fifty? fifty-five?

For extra credit, something so simple as the year it was published, please.
