I arrived home on Wednesday, after a road trip of well over 2,000 miles (well over 3,200 kilometers) that also involved ferries from Ireland to the UK, and from the UK to the Netherlands (and, obviously, back again in both cases). Here's a photograph I took from the summit of Grosse Feldberg which, standing at an altitude of 881.5 metres above sea level, is the second highest point in the German province of Hessen. It is the highest point of the Taunus mountain range which is situated only a few miles to the north of Frankfurt, and is a relatively low range, with smooth, rounded mountains covered with forest. The Taunus is bounded by the valleys of the Rhine, Main, and Lahn rivers and it is part of the Rhenish Slate Mountains. On the opposite side of the Rhine, the Taunus range is continued by the Hunsruck mountain range.

Gorgeous. I like the feeling of light this photo has.

Long day, but Cookie is doing well. Still hasn't pooped today, but she ate supper, and we'll try again in a few minutes. Putting up my new light was hell... because I have a ceiling medallion. I had to get a longer threaded rod--get your mind out of the gutter, you guys--and then the thread got stripped so I had to take it all apart and put a nut on the top side to make sure it couldn't ever fall. Not easy with one arm, but I did it. And yes, I stood on two chairs, and leaned on a couple of bins placed on a very solid dining table. Yeah me!

I'm alive! *flops* I need to do a few things (doing a status update about those things) and jaw is feeling better.  I've been doing things on discord for my mod positions (funs) and enjoying myself. Like writing and drinking tea. *smiles*

And just where was that son of yours ... you couldn't wait until he was available to help 'cause the light had to be installed witin a 72hr time limit or you needed to return it ... AARRRGGG

We have the boat back on the trailer, and the car is all packed up. We just need to close up the house before handing the keys to the landlord, and then we'll be on the road!
