I needed the day to process and decompress from the stress of yesterday. I'm much calmer about the furlough now and have a plan in place to keep myself occupied. I'm going to treat Mon-Fri like a regular workweek and maintain the hours I'm used to working. I'll choose a project per day and complete it during my normal work hours. This way I'll have a routine in place and feel like I'm accomplishing something. My first project on Monday will be organizing and deep cleaning the kitchen. Maintaining the routine can be important Look after yourself and let yourself have time to process what’s happened. And once you have finished Albert's kitchen, don’t forget to add mine to the list 7
Popular Post Caz Pedroso Posted April 5, 2020 Popular Post Posted April 5, 2020 23 hours ago, Marty said: Hi, Caz! Yea, I'm doing good, thanks for asking. Because I am over 70, I am effectively under house arrest at the moment, although the Government tells me it's for my own safety. I am allowed to go out in the garden and, fortunately, I have a very big garden in the old house I purchased last November. That garden has been untended in the approximately ten years since the house fell vacant, so I have plenty to keep me occupied. And, if the weather turns too wet, there's lots of work needs doing inside the house. I have loads of provisions in the cupboards, fridge and freezer, so there's no danger of me starving to death. So I'm not getting too bored during my house arrest. Initially the cocooning (to use the Government's term) of the over 70's was to last until Easter Sunday, but the health minister suggested yesterday that it may be extended. I must admit, though, that just once or twice during the past week I have felt a sort of helplessness. That has soon passed, but I do worry about those elderly whose mental state may not be quite as robust as my own. My nearest chemist (pharmacy) is around 20 miles (30km) away, and they texted me the other day to say my prescription is ready for collection. They don't offer any sort of delivery service (but told me over the phone that they are in discussions with the Government about that), so I shall either have to arrange for someone to collect it for me, or maybe ring the health centre in my village on Monday. Maybe they have arranged to get basic medicines (which is all I need) in stock. I wouldn't need the medicine for about ten days anyway, and none of it is critical. I wouldn't be in imminent danger of death without it. So, that's my story! Not as bad as many people's during this current crisis, I am sure. Ali and I are of course under lockdown and we are considered at risk because Mark is still at work. He works for Iceland and is doing up to 12hour days. Because he is interacting with customers he has to have a shower when he gets home but there is still a high risk of him bringing something home. I had to go pick up a prescription a day after the lockdown started. I had to queue to get in the local shopping centre and then queue to get into Boots. It took me about an hour and a half to get my medicine. Most people have been great and follow the rules with little moaning. However, you always get someone and I've come across a few really rude idiots while doing the weekly shop. Ali and I are finally getting into a routine to get her homework done and my housework, but it is slow going. I love my daughter and husband but I am so looking forward to some alone time when this is all over. I hadn't realized how noisy a house/neighbourhood could be when everyone is forced to stay at home. 5 3

I have plenty of chores to keep me busy, but when I have some down time, I find myself reading and writing more, instead of watching reruns on Netflix. 5

This isn't the first time it's happened, and I can rewrite them, but does anyone know how it happens? Like, is there a delete shortcut I might be hitting by accident... like Control and another key? Or is there something in Word I could be doing? It's been a while since I opened the doc, and I don't know what I did last... I might have copied and pasted things around... arghhhh Try listing your docs by date or by name and see if there is a newer version. You may have opened an older version by mistake. Or saved it in another folder or on the desk top. Edited April 5, 2020 by Timothy M. 6 1

What I wouldn't give for the sound of my son thumping up and down the stairs, or his PS game system booming with gunfire and explosions that I can hear in my bedroom. God, I even miss the sound of his hour long showers. Take care and be safe, Caz. 8

I had sent the doc to my email, but that version was even shorter than my word doc. I'll have to do it more frequently from now on, but I'm sure I'm hitting keys that delete... just don't know what they are. The doc ends in the middle of a sentence, so that tells me I did something. I'm not saying it's necessarily the case as far as your son is concerned, but that comment I have highlighted made me think of an article in Waterford Whispers News (a satirical online newspaper) from around six years ago, when the Irish Government was trying to introduce water charges: Warning: Mention of mast*rbation Spoiler https://waterfordwhispersnews.com/2014/05/09/teens-wanking-in-the-shower-to-cost-parents-hundreds-every-year/ 6

No... I should have said his hour long stays in the bathroom. He's a bodybuilder, and he shaves his chest and arms etc. He also applies moisturizers after he showers, and I always give him a hard tome for how long he takes, and my other kids joke that he has trouble leaving a mirror... he's very handsome and everyone tells him that. Besides, with the amount of sex he has, I doubt he has the time and energy for the other stuff. 7
