Apologies for my silence the past day or two. Just had a busy couple of days.

Anyway, I'm nearly half way through my challenge to post a new black and white photo every week for 52 weeks. Here's week 25:

I think this pic is one of my favorites.  The plant still looks strong, despite the damage done by the caterpillars.

My few tomato plants, although they produced loads of flowers, didn't yield a single fruit this year. I'll only grow them next year if I have some sort of greenhouse to grow them in.

I think it's more a case of the climate in this part of Ireland not being suitable for growing tomatoes outdoors, Albert...

My daughter brought my groceries tonight because she has to work tomorrow... and while we were talking, a bird in the tree above me crapped on my face. OMG... it was gross... black. Ugh. My daughter says don't worry, Dad, it's good luck.  

And... she bought me a jigsaw puzzle to help with my blood pressure.     She is so sweet....

Happy Saturday gang

I had my annual  ophthalmologist appointment. I almost didn't make it. I guess I was already half asleep  when I set the alarm... my appointment was at 10.10, I had a bus at 9.48 and I had set the alarm for 9.30  and I woke up at 9.46!  I jump in my clothes, of course the bus was long gone. But I was lucky when I call and explain the secretary said I could still come and as they're not book back to back they'd squeeze me and halfway I jump in a bus. 

The doc was a replacement but he was really great. When we talked and I told him I had been told last year that I wasn't eligible for the laser surgery anymore he told me he does another kind of eye surgery which consists of putting an implant and that with that I would not need glasses anymore or just in class to read from very far! That's exciting and a bit scary. I've been wearing glasses since I was 7 and the idea of having something put in my eyes... but it could be life changing. 

I'm off to see my great aunt now.
