You have to be quick and consistent with a noise of displeasure(like a sharp hiss... something out of the ordinary) when they move out in front of you, and you have to be stubborn. There are some restrictive collars that will help, but I never use them. I carry bait with a puppy... the smell of that keeps their attention on me, and I reward them when they respond to voice... not a pull. If they do get out in front, turn your back and go the other way. They can tend to charge if they know where you are headed, so keep them guessing... do a lot of direction changes and make them think and pay attention to you. Good luck. This sounds like good advice. I prefer to reward good behaviour rather than punish him, so I've stayed away from the restrictive collars. I'll persevere. I took him for a really long walk this morning and it must have tired him out, because he was much better on the way back. 5 2
Popular Post dughlas Posted January 5, 2019 Popular Post Posted January 5, 2019 G'day y'all. We returned safely to mum's in SC. The weather is pleasant. I'm worn out and my head hurts. Glad to be home. The past ten days have been hectic. 6

Popular Post dughlas Posted January 6, 2019 Popular Post Posted January 6, 2019 (edited) Neither mum nor I had the energy to prep dinner so we went to a small Italian/mediterranean place nearby. There was an suv with a Michigan license plate. I looked but there wasn't a hunky young couple having dinner so no Page and Morgan. The place isn't big enough to accomodate Bob and his many selves so I knew he wasn't there. Edited January 6, 2019 by dughlas 1 5
