dughlas Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 It's a lovely day. Bright Carolina skies and 64/18°. We went to early church service. We hadn't been there since my birthday 4 months ago. Attendance was light and well spaced. We felt safe being there. Just finished eating Easter dinner. In normal times we made reservations at a favorite local restaurant. They do a every nice ham dinner. Last year that wasn't an option. This year they are open. It is however their busiest day and since I am not yet vaccinated we decided it wasn't smart to eat out in a busy space. Instead I called and got two takeout meals. It was yummy. 5
Site Administrator Popular Post Valkyrie Posted April 4, 2021 Site Administrator Popular Post Posted April 4, 2021 I made some low carb baked 'oatmeal' for breakfast this morning. It doesn't have any oats in it, but it's quite reminiscent of the real thing and sooooo goood. I'll post a pic in the gallery I've spent the day so far puttering around the house. My mom is coming over shortly and we'll have pork tenderloin for dinner. She's bringing rice for her side and I'll have veggie fries and maybe a salad. Then ice cream for dessert. It's sunny and beautiful out, so a perfect day for Easter. Oh and I bought some Dove dark chocolate bites too. Can't have an Easter with no chocolate 7

Have to admit, bro, it scared me a little bit as well. I had an uncle who got blinded in one eye when he was scratched by a thorn as he ducked through a gap in a hedge to get from one field to another... 2 3 2

Although it almost breaks my heart to tell you this, ma féé diabolique, but you aren't part of my current social bubble under current Covid-9 regulations. And I am not allowed outside my county - let alone country - just at the moment, so was unable to hide chocolate eggs in your garden. Peut-être l'année prochaine. 1 5
Popular Post clochette Posted April 4, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 4, 2021 No one had thought of buying chocolates in this house so this morning we went to the chocolate boutique that sells from a local chocolate factory but turns out it was closed so we drove directly to the factory where there's a selling stand. In normal circumstances you can visite the factory during the 3 weekends before easter. It's a small local family business who own a plantation of cocoa trees on the banks of the Rio Napo in the Amazon rainforest in Ecuador and produce chocolate all the way to the final product. 7

Popular Post Albert1434 Posted April 4, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 4, 2021 (edited) Click on the picture A yearly sign that spring has sprung If you find yourself in Germany or Austria around Easter, you'll see trees, bushes, and cut branches decorated in colorful eggs such as these. The Ostereierbaum (aka Osterbaum or Easter egg tree), is a German tradition dating back centuries, though no one's quite sure of the exact origin. Eggs have long been a symbol of rebirth and spring, and the sight of colorful eggs hung by ribbon can melt even the coldest of hearts. Edited April 4, 2021 by Albert1434 6

Back home in PA there are folks who decorate trees with eggs though I don't remember any using so many eggs. 6
