Also, for anyone's benefit who cares/can't remember, I called dugh "Uncle" in Thai, meaning he's a little too much older than me to call him Phi. 

I don't know if that's actually true, but it seemed to fit.

Yeah, I suppose.  My dad was 30 years older than me, so he would've been turning 73 this year.

I guess "Lung" fits.  The Thai language has a rule how to signify if they're older or younger than your parents, but I don't quite get it.
