I don’t know if that qualifies as “acrobatics”, but that’s crazy that gymnastics were required curriculum.

I’d never have passed P.E. if that were required when I was in school.

Likewise. At least nowadays, clothing styles have changed, so you don't have to worry about accidentally flashing the "bits" to everyone.

We wore jocks under the shorts. Though truth be told, it was a little distracting when we did fitness tests. Kneeling at a classmate's feet holding his ankles while he was on his back with his knees bent and slightly parted doing sit ups you got a pretty good look up his shorts. You couldn't very well not look since you were responsible for watching and counting his reps. Doing bench presses in weight training was the same, having a classmate standing by your head acting as spotter gave you a pretting good show too. Of course by that point you'd probably seen everything he had while dressing out or in the showers at the end of class. By the time we graduated I think I saw all of my male classmates naked multiple times. It was no big deal, okay a couple of them were big deals, stripping off to change and to shower was routine.

Uhm, no leotards but rather skimpy gym shorts for PE.

OMG, those tiny white gym shorts? There's no way you could wear boxers with those... tighty whities all the way, and still things spilled out.

We had archery and trampoline in high school. Talk about dangerous.

We only had to wear jocks for contact sports. Honestly, I've never liked them.

We did archery too. Plus field hockey with the girls. Keep in mind field hockey was a girls sport and our girls were consistently ranked at districts and regionals. In PE they kicked the boys butts.

We wore them for everything but bowling. The danger was that a couple of guys thought it was funny to pants classmates when we had joint track and field days with the girls. The girls got quick glimpses of lots of cute boy butts on those days.

In 8th grade, there were two boys (I think they were cousins) whose family didn't have much money. They wore hand-me-downs from an older brother. They didn't wear underpants on Fridays, as that was usually laundry day. The warm-up in gym class was...interesting.
