Popular Post dughlas Posted July 17, 2019 Popular Post Posted July 17, 2019 G'day y'all. The heat and humidity have increased. High temps forecast in low 90's/33+° with tropical humidity making it feel closer to 100/37. Potential for heavy storms later today and overnight. Tomorrow to slightly less warm but the following 3/4 days are expected to be the hottest so far this summer with heat indices of 105/40+. Warnings have already been broadcast for the elderly and infirm. We had our early morning walk. Currently the pup and I are sitting in the yard enjoying the realtively pleasant morning having just shared a molasses cake for breakfast. Well my breakfast, second breakfast for the four-legged one who broke his fast on a bit of kibble with goat's milk yogurt before our walk. 7 1

Sounds pretty much like the forecast here, although we're not supposed to get quite as hot as east of here. Molasses cake? Send some my way! I love molasses. 🤤 6

It was a bit windy overnight (some of my lupin flowers will need re-staking), but calm enough now. Currently 20°C/68°F And good day to everyone else! 4 1 1

They're wonderful broken into bite size bits served with sliced fresh peaches and greek yogurt. 6

Fortunately there is a breeze under the tree but Thistle is looking for a cool spot in the grass. He tried digging a furrow in the grass but some mean person told him to stop. There is a severe storm warning in effect until 10pm. It appears that the remnants of Barry are passing to the west and north of us. I suspect it's wet at Val's. It's actually 95/35°. Same here... my mare had sweat patches at seven this morning... I brought her in and kept an eye on her, but I think it was just the mugginess... she's fine now, so I put her back out... the sun isn't as strong. I waited for the blacksmith for two hours this afternoon, and finally called him. Right after his last visit, a mass was found on his kidney and he had it removed immediately. He's feeling better now... thought he had called me to cancel, but didn't. No big deal... the mare's feet are not long at all. His other kidney was clear. I have spoiled Cookie. She expects chicken breast mixed in every meal. Oh yeah... Hey, bro. 5 1 1
