Some useless information for you Did you know you know that bar codes for retail items are governed by an international organization? For example the above, is a common 10 digit format. The first 5 digits are 'purchased', not all 5, but the sequence of the 5. Then you can pick your last 5 codes to what you want. But if you want a check digit, one at the end, you can't just pick a random number, It is based on the previous 10.
