    It took me forever to get the hang of proper use for em-dashes as opposed to ellipses. I used them interchangably for a long time. Thanks for this kind of info. It's a huge help. I'd love to know a source on the punctuation uses with the ellipses. I go back and forth a bit with my editors because it's used so infrequently. It makes total sense to me like this, but you know how hard it can be to convince people to change a style standard if you can't show it to them.

    My first for many things was a step cousin I saw during summer visits with my dad. I was 13 when we met. My first beyond that was a guy I met at a bar during one of those summer visits when I turned 19 named Jon Paul. We never slept that night. All men have been judged by that standard from that point on. LOL

    To be honest, I never grow tired of reading author Q&A's. I've always found people idiosyncrasies to be fascinating and sometimes make me feel better about my own oddities. But seriously, the Carthera series are more than worth the read. And now you know a little bit more about the author who made them. Win/Win.
