No one needs to know how, when or why you have made aquaintences. Nor do they need to know details about my friends in order to notify them if I were to pass in an untimely fashion. That's part of why I arranged with the funeral director to send the notification. He asked for nothing past email addresses, and I update the list every few years. I once had a "friend" ask why I hang out online with a bunch of gay guys. I told her it was because they were more intelligent and far less bigoted than she. Needless to say we no longer spend time together.

But if even one of us are in your Gmail address book we would eventually get the message.

Recent events started me thinking. I have made many good friends online, both here at GA and elsewhere. I would worry if one of them went missing with no warning or explanation. When SkinnyDragon found about his prognosis, he took the time, something he had precious little of, to fill us in. I am one of those super organized people. After having to make the arrangements for both my parents, then my father in law, I decided that was something I didn't want my loved ones to have to deal with. When I got a diagnosis of cancer, one of the things I did was a visit to our families choice of funeral directors. We discussed what I wanted and put it all in a file "just in case". My family is well aware of my membership here, but some would prefer to keep GA a more private part of their life. While speaking with Hugh, (yes we are on a first name basis, we have known each other since highschool) he asked what I thought at the time an odd question, if there were anyone my family might not know about that I would want notified in the event of my death. After discussing it, I gave him the info he needed to get to GA and one of the things he will do when the time comes is post a notice here. Please friends, consider including info on contacting us in your "when I am gone" stuff. If you are in a position where you would prefer your family not know, reach out to someone you trust. It gives me peace of mind knowing I will not just go poof.

I think the one that bothers me the most is your/you're. "Your going to work" or "you're mom is pretty" just drives me bonkers. Anyone I edit for knows I have a list of approximately an hundred words/pairs of words I search every chapter to make sure they don't slip into print. Unfortunately they can be like the site bugs lately and manage to worm their way past once in a while. That's another one bothers me, when something is "over their" unless it is over their heads!

I agree!!! Sucks is not a strong enough word for it. There were nights I would still be awake at 4 am and needing to open the doors at the daycare at 7. Facing a room full of 5 to 10 year olds under those circumstances...let's just say NOT GOOD and move on. I found a melatonin supplement helped.

Order and routine are comforting to the autistic. Frankie is well and truly out of his comfort zone! I agree with the others a HEA in which Frankie returns to his tollbooth, and Keyno helps to occupy his nights and bring him out into the world is my mind's conclusion to the story, but I will GLADLY read any future installments you may write, regardless of where the go. ?

A good way to avoid duplicate content would be one (longererer) review with links in the other possible locations.

I think you should start reviewing (complete stories) more, and posting them in regular Blog posts, not just the featured stories blog but here too!

All things considered, I think the upgrade is going well in spite of a few bugs. No amount of beta testing is going to exterminate them all, and the admins are doing their best to fix things AND keep the site up at the same time. The alternative would be a long term shut down, something most of us would prefer not happen. Give Myr and company a break. They do all this FOR FREE, and I for one am greatful!
