    Downhearted

Nicely done. You captured the capacity for love many Downs Syndrome individuals have beautifully. So many people have no idea just how deeply a DSI can feel.(That is how we abreviate it in our case notes in the therapy program @ our barn.) In addition to being a well written and enjoyable story, you may just have given some of us "normals" a new insight. "Normals" is what one of my DSI riding students calls anyone who does NOT have Downs!

    Chasing Jayce

While a tad cruel, I can easily see any number of my friends engineering this sort of thing, bit a gay and straight version. Well written, imaginative, and sharp. Well done.
  3. Clem from pheasant day says hi Sasha. Saw him Tuesday.
  4. So...Drama princess?

    Roswell

Good lord! I think being a semi retired accountant type gives YOU too much time inside your head! Made me laugh bro!
  7. Clo is onto something. Drew would be the one to ask.

    American Steel

Lyssa, you are going to love CJ and his extended family. He ain't your average teen! But start with the first story. While the current book will make sense on its own, the back story is important to really understand CJ.
  9. Even if Alek has changed his situation, is it enough to overcome the hurt he caused Liam? He pulled Liam into his closet, putting his relationship with his family and his business dealings ahead of Liam and their happiness. That is not something you can easily forget, even if it is no longer the case. It took Corey and Jason forever to work past their issues, even though Jason had not cheated on HIM, it had been a friend when they were all kids, and both had grown up since. To expect Liam to get past the hurt and take Alek back under ANY conditions is asking a lot!

    Sorry To Hurt You

First off, all the things you and your family are feeling are NORMAL. When my mom was dying due to cancer, things fell on me. My brother actually packed house and moved to Florida knowing mom would likely not last out the year. He brought dad with him. He felt it would be too much to deal with mom's illness and take care of dad after his stroke. In that he was 100 % right. Knowing mom did the right things have very little to do with the feelings involved. Have you ever heard the saying "The heart wants what the heart wants."? If two years later the anger has not faded, perhaps a freight councilor would help.
  15. Lol maybe, but I am pretty certain my current hay supplier IS gay, and a typo like that is bound to come back and bite me in the ass.
  16. Autocorrect is evil. Every time I try to order hay for the barn it wants to order "gay".
  17. Lol we may not stay on topic but we have a shit ton of fun!

    Chapter 7

  19. Oh, I am sure Lahja will be around. He may be a newer demon, but once a demon takes up residence in Sasha's head they never seem to stay completely quiet.
  20. Why can I picture Ms Sybil dragging someone like Warren to the nearest vehicle and commanding them to shut up and drive?
  21. You could even take a page out of TimothyM's book and use the prompts to tell us about Steve & family's lives. Not much planning, no time lines to build, just the pure pleasure of writing.
  22. My turn to toss something new in the pot and give it a stir. Regionalism and country of origin is not the only thing to consider. A characters relative intelligence and level of schooling is going to affect his speech patterns. Nothing turns me off a story faster than a high school drop out that speaks more "correctly" than a Harvard graduate.

    Chapter 18

You had a lot of loose ends to tie up here. Looks like you have practiced the are of macreme in the past. This is a well written account of a loving extended family and how they deal when life starts tossing curve balls. I am certainly glad I chose to read it, and will be working my way through the rest of your stories. I was a bit surprised the judge didn't question Troy about the zipper thing directly, and that CPS didn't have the Lyntons there since they were the inztigators. I would have loved to see the reactions when the judge drew the REAL story out of Troy, and then dresses the homophobic twits down after. Well done sir. As a critic featured on the news when I was a child would have said...
