    Grandma's are magic

Good to hear you love your grandmother. I'm trying to be a good grandfather. I have a sad story to tell. I never had a grandmother. Of course, everyone has two grandmothers, but I never met either of mine. They both died of cancer in their forties, before I was born. Ironically, my dad's grandmothers both lived until I was in my teens, so I had two precious great-grandmothers whom I actually knew. If you have grandparents or great-grandparents, get to know them well.
  3. Happy Birthday, Nick! Red is your favorite color, I presume.
  4. See if you can top this:

    Free Hugs

Are we talking real money, Sam?
  6. Happy Birthday, Benji!
  7. Just kidding, Duncan. Even three months is worth the wait.
  8. If you went around giving everyone a free hug, what reaction would you get? Is there a right way and a wrong way to go about it? The couple in this video seem to have been a hit with their free hugs experiment. If it works in Sondrio, Italy, wouldn't it work in your hometown? Great musical background in the video, too! I have a hug for each and every one of you:
  9. I think that, if you have made an honest commitment to someone, you will not expose your body to anyone else, even anonymously. If you do, your commitment is certainly drawn into question. It is not a question of cheating; it is only a question of commitment.
  10. And a very happy humbug to you, too.
  11. Here is one of the greatest Christmas concert pieces. On Nov.13 2010 unsuspecting shoppers got a big surprise while enjoyingn their lunch. Over 100 participants in this awesome Christmas Flash Mob. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXh7JR9oKVE
  12. I doubt I need to campaign for CJ. He surely has the title sewn up at this point. Kind of late in the year to try deflecting attention from himself. Has the opposite effect.
  13. ALERT! Bogus Science! There is no such creature as the Tennessee Cliffhanger Chirping Frog. Check the URL for that link. It reads: http://www.cjames.gayauthors.org/Eleutherodactylus_precipitous.htm. That's hardly a notable scientific site. The Mountie? Read the limerick............. There once was a guy in our county who sought lovers as if for bounty. On a Canada trip, he made a fateful slip by trying to hit on a Mountie. No cliffhanger there. It is obvious...though possibly too subtle for a goat...what happens when you hit on a Mountie.
  14. There are no cliffhangers in poetry. Only a cliff hanging goat would think otherwise. Nice try.
  15. I'm not voting either. I agree with Greedya; I'm no expert on PlugIn Matty's life. One thing you might consider, if you haven't already done it, is quoteLowe's a reasonable figure for which you would consider accepting this"promotion". You are looking for a new job; they have one available. Treat them just like you would a potential new employer. Good luck!
  16. Due to the format (or my personal non-nerdiness), please click on the link below. http://homepage.mac.com/doug_arrington/home/white_christmas.swf
  17. There is always the additional question: How low should you go? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LC1POvR8N-A
  18. Born in Memphis...have lived in Nashville for the last 36 years...was a fifth generation Memphian, so the family has been there quite a while. Like many Americans, I have mixed ancestry and know little about some ancestors. Mom's family: British and French. Don't know much about the British side, but the French arrived during the American Revolution and were early settlers in the trans-Appalachian region. Dad's family: Irish, maybe. His ancestors came from Ireland in the mid-nineteenth century, but their origins appear to be Anglo-Saxon and German. They apparently migrated to Ireland, then to America. Short answer when someone asks is usually "Irish".
  19. Happy Birthday, John! Remember, 30 is the new 20.
  20. I could be wrong of course, but I do believe the creature hanging by his horns from the power line is a sheep. There is a difference. Goats are devious; sheep are merely stupid.
  21. It seems you are easily aroused, Carl. Perhaps easily amused, too. At least you weren't blown of course.
  22. Great picture, Robbie. I have to wonder what he's thinking. Probably counting his blessings including the fact that turkey is the traditional Thanksgiving meat.
  23. Didn't see an announcement, but Chapter 27 has been posted.
  24. We are probably all better off than we realize. We have blessings every day that cost us nothing. Personal debt is a plague that can be halted in its tracks one person at a time. All but the wealthiest of people incur debt to buy a home or pay college tuition. But most debt is the result of our inability or unwillingness to deny ourselves "things". If we can learn to deny ourselves these unnecessary things, we can be debt free. The intermediate objective is to cut up our credit cards. West, I'm glad you see your debt as a relatively small thing keeping you away from Pavel. Best wishes to you both.
