    Once again, Freddie appears to be worth his weight in gold. Simon is so fortunate to have him as a friend. Perhaps something good will happen to help mend the fraying relationship he has with his mother - or something that lifts her mood; perhaps his father getting hit by a bus? Looking forward to more.

    This is a tough question, and an important one. Thanks to @JimSqu Sunbelter, @jkwsquirrel, @Rigby Taylor, @Timothy M. and @Yeoldebard for taking it on. My preference is for a well told story that engages and draws me in; regardless of how much or how little sex is involved.

    Hank hurts, that’s plain. He isn’t going to forgive or reconcile anytime soon, not if the scenes toward the end of the chapter are indicative of anything. You provide us with tons of circumstantial and tangential information about why Chase’s grand error amplified his pain, and you help us feel the weight of guilt Chase has heaped on himself. So much seems to be driving these two apart, that maybe Chase will have to learn to live with the ache and the distance while he finds a new circle of friends.

    I enjoyed this chapter. Troy becomes a little more relaxed with Grant, and maybe Grant is feeling more than pity for Troy. That’s a lovely start. And a furnace to warm everything up! Better still. Now maybe Troy can get his van towed and fixed. You have me grateful for the early chapter, and looking forward to the next.
