  1. Structured poetry distracted my mind just enough to make experience bearable. And later, made it possible to distill bits and pieces of memory’s mosaic into a new sort of picture. I am glad you connected with some of these. Thank you for reading them.
  2. Thank you, dear friend. Your encouragement has made a world of difference.
  3. Thank you, Mac. I’m really glad you liked reflections. Uttering these words aloud, and them setting them to paper helped the hurt dissipate, some. And your words are very kind, and generous. Thank you.
  4. All the sound of the world is mere noise compared to the voice of the one we want to hear. You wrote this so beautifully and well. Thank you.
  5. Thank you, tim. Sharing these helped me see things more clearly; to concentrate and distill memory.
  6. Thank you, Val. And I am glad you found things that resonate for you in these. Writing really helped then, and now, too.

    Chapter 9

Ko and Jackson manage not to upend a friendship. That in itself is a great part of this chapter, let alone the dream sequence.
  8. This article makes an excellent point. It's really helpful, because the temptation in writing is to iron out character flaws rather than work with them. Thank you for writing about this.
  9. Hospital Fans whir, IV bags drip, alarms ring, unanswered; bustle, chatter in the hallway leaks in; good cheer mixed with medical urgency observe vital signals; and through it all, she sleeps. In the Night Just dregs remain in the bottom of the bottle, bitter maroon moments too hard to drink; we can't filter them out or remove them as time slowly decants its wine in our glasses. At Daybreak Hollow, bereft within,

    Decisions

Geoff and Tony are making real plans; for a dinner, for a bed, and for a life built around each other, no matter what anyone else thinks. Including Geoff’s mother, or Tony’s sister, for that matter. Wonderfully and engagingly written.
  11. Oh, tim, you just wrote a fantastic story. The contrasts between Nellie’s trust, and Dick’s insecurity was brilliantly done. Then came the thrill of Danny’s return, and the wonderful twist in the use of the mug. Love it.
  12. What an awesome tale. I am glad to have found it, even if I was late in doing so.

    I Promise

How did I miss this? And it just made me smile. I know that they appear elsewhere in your constellations, but they' stars on their own.
  14. Oh...(trembles in his mukluks)...I get to critique (gulp) Carlos?
  15. I just signed up for I&E. Will think about some of the others...
  16. I am abominably late to this, but... anyway, I see Carlos (who is last) already has Sam Wyer reading... do I choose Carlos also, or do I ask you to assign me randomly to someone else?

    Chapter 16

Oh, boy. “So I did.” And now we get to see what those three words beget. Wonderful chapter, beautifully crafted.

    Blood Moon

I skied beneath this moon before dawn, gliding over silver snow through shadows and broad gleaming meadows. I heard the owl calling on the hillside, but I wished I could heard your cry, too. But this poem puts me right back in the moonlight. Thank you.
  19. This is a powerful poem, and yet more evidence of your mutual understanding. It left me deeply moved.

    Chapter 1

It's a lovely beginning, but already tinged with something that tells me Adam and Troy are about to hit a very difficult patch.

    Fog and Squall

To laugh and cry at the weather so beautifully is a gift. Thank you.

    Dead Old Man

How well you write some very hard thoughts and conflicting feelings. You are loved, and held and remembered.
  23. It's snowing this morning, and the woods are white again. And this is running in my mind today...

    Casey

Casey is getting a visitation, it seems. I fear it might not be good news, for him or for Raphael. But I’m hooked on this story.
  25. This is a really helpful and informative post. You emphasize what works, what’s enjoyable, and the practical. Michael is extraordinarily fortunate in having you.
