Great ending, although I'm sad we're there. Adam and Troy have been one of my favorite couples here on GA. Its great that they had so much love and support from Troy's parents. More parents need to be as loving and supportive as they are. Definitely a story I'll be reading again.

The one regret that changed everything -Shane
jaysalmn commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in The one regret that changed everything -Shane
Excuses, excuses. That's about all Shane has to offer Donovan. As if Shane couldn't be any worse, he let someone he doesn't even know talk shit about someone he claims to care so much about... for a job! Pretty damn low if u ask me.... oh wait, using a disgusting "catchphrase" in response to said person talking shit about ur boyfriend instead of defending him is definitely lower! Normally I wouldn't understand why anyone would want to even have anything to do with a homophobic bully with an ugly personality, but considering Donovan's poor decision making skills and what I guess is a lack of self respect, I think I get it now. Doesn't make it right tho.- 33 comments

I kno Loz has a lot of problems, but he needs to be stopped. I hope Daniel finds enough trust in Michael to tell him who's hurting him. Daniel doesn't deserve what Loz is doing to him.

I definitely wouldn't want to be in Scott's shoes. I think choosing David would be more of a shallow choice. He really doesn't kno David other than how he looks and jacking off with him in the shower. David comes off as wanting more of a fuck buddy. Also, I think choosing David would crush Devin. Devin has gone through a lot, but I think it makes him more in tune with his emotions. He knows Scott from the conversations they've had and how Scott stood up for him with the bully. I think Devin looks past the whole "getting laid" subject, unlike David. I can't wait to see how this plays out!

If it's a bad idea, why does it feel so good?
jaysalmn commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in If it's a bad idea, why does it feel so good?
I feel the same. I've ended up friends with guys that I've hooked up with, but I've never hooked up with guys that I'm already friends with. For me, once we're friends I just can't look at them in a sexual way. -

To be honest, I don't see this as being any worse than Donovan wanting a relationship with a homophobic bully. Obviously Donovan's decision making skills are shitty at best. -
Loving the story! Noah and Jordan are great, and I absolutely love Jenn! Sebastian is a difficult read. He could go either way as to homophobic vs accepting. We'll have to watch that guy. Noah closing off when meeting Sebastian, I see his difficulty making friends. Can't wait to read more!

I feel so bad for Devin and what he's going through. I'm glad David set Scott straight about bullying. Scott is still a work in progress, but its nice to see him making a conscious effort to change his ways. Maybe Devin has a crush on Scott??

I wish I could do both the love and laugh emoji. I agree with u about Scott and his new circle of friends, and I thought that first line about all those porn movies being true was hilarious! I'm sure I even own a few! Lmao!

The Wild Night in the Country Cottage
jaysalmn commented on jkwsquirrel's story chapter in The Wild Night in the Country Cottage
Great chapter!! I knew that pregnancy was right around the corner. Her reaction kinda proves she hasn't changed as much as Dustin had thought. I agree Dustin hasn't hit rock bottom yet, and that's very worrisome! Both Dustin and Nate deserve better than their current situations. -
As this was aimed towards me, I comment on the characters of the story. I think characters that are frustrating and complex shows that the writing is good. I don't, however, make comments about another reader. Rude.
-
Not true. Its not that I haven't liked the story. Its just so extremely frustrating when someone like Shane walks through life blaming every hateful, homophobic, bigoted action on his father. This would be plausible if he were late teens or early twenties. We're talking about a guy in his mid-thirties that still can't form an opinion for himself. There has to come a time when he takes responsibility for his own actions, instead of always going to "but my father". Shane is at an age where his father isn't the problem anymore, he is.
-
That was the lamest fucking excuse I've ever heard! Calling that sentence a "catchphrase" shows exactly how much of an asshole Shane really is! Donovan believing that line of bullshit makes him just as pathetic as Shane! I can't anymore with this story!
-
I want to see what Shane's explanation is just as much as everyone else, but bottom line its gonna just be a bunch of excuses.
-
If things didn't happen the way Daniel thinks they did, there would have been no reason for Skyler to apologize to him when he caught him with his boyfriend. A "best friend" doesn't do anything that could be misconstrued with being remotely sexual with his "best friend's" boyfriend, no matter what way it happened. Then to see the two together days later. I say that's a definite back stab! I don't trust Skyler AT ALL.
-
Do you think there is an acceptable explanation for treating people like shit?? I don't.
-
Yeah, you are kinda defending Shane. Its ok for Shane to shame and demean Donovan at every turn just because of how his father is. I think he should be held accountable for all of his actions, no matter what the reason. I'm sorry, but Donovan deserves someone better in his life than a person who makes him feel less than, boyfriends or even friends for that matter.
-
Ok, I guess I'm the only one still hating Skyler! I don't kno how Daniel got through it, because I would have done some physical damage! I would have never agreed to pretend to be boyfriends with someone who had stabbed me in the back without any thought about it. Not so sure after this chapter.
-
Great start!! Loving the story already. I'm totally team Daniel. Sometimes karma needs some help, and Skyler got exactly what he deserved. I would have been mad as hell, too. Like Daniel, I can hold a grudge too. Can totally understand him still hating Skyler 3 years later. Can't wait to see how this story plays out!
-
I totally understand ur story, and sympathize with the guy u dated. I respect u for helping him through difficult times. That being said, ur situation happened in college. Unless Shane's father is paying his living expenses and giving him an allowance, Shane doesn't owe him shit. He's old enough to kno right from wrong as far as how to treat people. The fact that he shames feminine guys without flinching shows me that he has no concept on how to treat anyone. At his age, I'd say this is beyond being his father's fault. My father and I differed on many subjects, but no way in hell would I treat others like shit just to try to make him proud. Its bad enough that Shane has a shitty personality, but the fact that he can't think for himself is really pathetic. There is absolutely no reason Donovan should waste his time on that loser, or the other idiots for that matter. He deserves WAY better!
-
I agree with Spikey that Donovan has some definite self esteem issues. I also agree that the fact that he still wants Shane in some way makes him pretty pathetic. The only thing I got out of this chapter is Shane is still an asshole, and his father is also an asshole. At this point, is there really a need to hear from Shane?? I think not.

Have to say, I love the new Scott! Its amazing what love and support can do for a person.

Trash Talking and Walking
jaysalmn commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in Trash Talking and Walking
I agree with u that Shane definitely has issues, but none of those are an excuse for shaming Donovan just because he's more on the effeminate side. Its sad that its even an issue in our community. As much as we want to be included and accepted, there are those in our own community that think its ok to shame others. Shane is one of those unfortunate people. The fact that he uses the term "fag" when referring to effeminate guys is disgusting. -

I also don't believe any of the DAKS are redeemable, especially Drew! -
