  1. Thanks, jp. As they once said, "this is just the end of the beginning."
  2. Thanks! Yes, very true with New Beginnings. I think the next story will start with the Wedding, but nothing is planned yet.
  3. Thank you for reading! The story of Alex and Dean will continue, but not in this Christmas Story. They will get a new Story, and more love.
  4. We pulled up to my grandparent’s house just after 6:30 pm. Dean and I sat in the car, with him holding my hand as I looked at the front door from the road. So many happy memories brought tears to my eyes, along with the pain of the last three years. The house was an old one along the Hillsborough River, sitting on a huge corner lot that may well have been an acre of land. Unheard of in the City, but it was built in the early 1920’s, and was marked as a historical landmark. There were two bu
  5. Thank you, Mac. I value you all, as well. On the topic of pain... I don't do pain well. Not at all. I have a very low tolerance for it.
  6. Not being in the D/s Life, but friends with several here, and a few I've met in the Real World, it does piss me off that misrepresentations like this happens. Just saw an Advertisement for a new 50 Shades movie coming out soon. I suspect it's gonna get worse.
  7. Thanks, all. A lot of food for thought. Hopefully, we can get more writers to join in on this topic, and we can help each other out more. You're not the only one Myr. That's my advice as well. I really am horrible at First Person perspective.
  8. Thanks for bringing this to our attention Myr.
  9. I vaguely remember either @Myr or @A.J. posting something about not using the Future Posting System because of the bugs. However, for the life of me, I can't find the post about it. If I recall correctly, keeping a story Unpublished, and flicking the switch later was fine, but the Future Post Dating System was borked.
  10. I solidly blame EA, and their lack of outlook if it's a game not dedicated to sports. (Not saying all Non-Sports EA Games are bad, but enough.) That update did the same to me, and I haven't reinstalled yet.
  11. Not to mention, the MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic. Notice how all these are BioWare productions. Authors can take a page from the way Video Games, and RPGs, help in the creative Storytelling process. YouTube is loaded with Dungeons and Dragons Players and DMs sharing their ideas, creations, and in a lot of cases recordings of their hours-long Gaming Sessions. Not to mention the tons of Worldbuilding guides, artwork, for all the different systems out there.
  12. I did watch the movie after I read the book. I thought it was really good, but like most Book-to-Movie movies, it's nothing but the Highlights and some creative retelling. If you can find it on the cheap or free OnDemand go for it.
  13. Thanks for the Head's up... I've got to check them out.

    Character Flaws

That's why I do give my characters flaws. Unlovable douchebags are the Mr./Mrs. Perfects or the Mary Sues of the literature world.
  15. Excellent, tim. Loved it.
  16. You're a great mother, molly. I have faith she will excel at this.
  17. Tell me it's not the Canadians... cause no one likes the Canadians.
  18. Which is right now. With DnD5e and more players playing over the internet via video chat, it's resurging. You can go on YouTube and find a ton of channels devoted to DnD, and lots of advice is very much useful for Writing, as it is for Role-playing.
  19. I'm almost willing to bet money, that the Playoffs will come down to Vegas and Tampa for the Cup. Vegas has been having one heck of an Origin season.
  20. I'm at a loss for words, but I love this poem. All I will say is Damn.... Powerful, and it's like you both were keyed into each other's mind.
  21. Myr, thanks for doing these blog spots. They are very informative. I've noticed that as well. On Blogs only. Trying to quote from the Blog itself to comments.
  22. Several months ago, I started a thread on your preferred writing point of view. As you read here, it was pretty even but a lot of people do like First Person PoV. I'm one of those that struggle with the first person perspective, and the vast majority of my work is in the head jumping style of Third Person PoV. So, those that like First Person, name your advice. How do you write in first person?
  23. Quote for truth! I've known a Taurus for a long time, and it's super hard for him to admit any emotion. Love especially.
  24. So, I have three stories based on Role-Playing Games: Aeris - Guardian Force. SciFi/Fantasy in that it's mixed Magic and Technology. We took Palladium Book's RIFTS, and ROBOTECH, campaign settings for the foundation, and totally bastardized them into a Homebrew World. Was the first serial story I started posting on GA. My Shorts - 2018. So far the characters in these shorts are former RPG characters of mine and members of my group. Honsol and Rune were my PCs. Homebrew World, but uses Dungeons and Dragons Fifth Edition for the rules. The Half-Elven Warlock. 100% being played out, as I write the chapters. Some elements are not directly from the game, like Devin and Victor's romance from chapter 4. But the bulk of the story is taken from our gaming sessions. There's a lot of stuff that is not in the story, and I condensed time for the first four chapters into a week, where it was a lot longer. In the process of writing chapter 5, and it's heavy in the combat arena. Mixing magic in our modern world, with the one major plot point of the Main Character, can't be killed (yet), has me changing some things on it.

    Dead Old Man

I'm here for you my friend, and it's my hope that some of the pain and wounds from the past finally start to heal. Both you and Mike are in my thoughts and prayers, tonight.
