    Dragon II

That's what it is based on. I'm glad you liked it Moggie.

    Dragon II

Honsol sat in the common room of the Sterling Buck and waited for his friend to join him. Since the curse came upon him, he hated to wait, but he understood the need for the mortal races to have their time. He looked around the room, gazing at the few locals that came here for a “watering-hole,” and took in the décor itself. The Innkeeper for the Sterling Buck wanted this to be a somewhat classier establishment, for a backwater forest town. He must have been an adventurer in his own right,

@BlindAmbition @LadyDe If I recall correctly. Battlecat's non-heroic name was Cringer. And he was a scaredy cat. LOL

Thanks, jp. More practice pieces, that I'm going to try and weave into a full story over the year.

Thanks for reading! Yeah. I love the song, and I've been on a fantasy kick because of my Dungeons & Dragons gaming I've been doing. Today this song came on, and I could see this Half-Elf walking down a forest path, with a Panther for an Animal Companion.

LOL. That is a great mom. Mine used to do it as well. Um... Hopefully soon, I'll post the next installment, which will get all the players, already mentioned, together soon.

    Christmas Day

Thank you very much, Dodger. I'm also not a huge romantic, but I love me a sappy love story from time to time as well. I'm glad you enjoyed the story.

Thank you for reading and for your comment, LadyDe. Yes, I remember He-Man, Skeletor, and Battlecat. To answer a couple of your questions. Yes, both the Half-Elf and the Strider Cat both will have names, which we will see in the next installment. Dragon and Wanderer are tied together. So, they will be continuations of the same story, from different P.O.V.s. Again, thank you for reading.

Thanks, Moggie. Yes, it's a start to a much larger project, but all based on prompts.

He strolled into town at the edge of the ancient forest with the gait of a warrior, with the sun setting behind the trees behind him. The man had the lean-toned build of a human, but the height of an elf, marking him as one of the exceptionally rare half-elves in the world. Beside him walked his companion, a large female Strider Cat, with a coat of crimson colored fur, and four black socks for coloration on her paws. Strider Cats were large predatory animals, akin to a panther, but had sharp bon

Thanks, jp. More from Honsol will be coming as part of the shorts. I think I'll make them based on prompts.

    Fortune Cookie

I agree it was way too short. I'm glad you liked it, jp.
  15. Thanks, jp. Already have notes for a longer story on them. Might be a while before I revisit them, in their world. I want to get 1/2-Elf done, and there is another project I'm working on.
  16. Separate the reaction system to where Reactions on Stories (Front Page, and Chapters) is calculated apart from the rest of the GA website. Have two Reputation Levels that you only see for Authors, Poets, and Editors. Level A - Community - Reputation from the Full Website Minus Stories as suggested above. Level B - Authorship - Reputation from Stories (Front Page, and Chapters) Only. Moderation is based on Level B.
  17. I would think so. It's not an anthology piece.
  18. Working on a submission for this. Thanks for hosting another challenge for us!
  19. Thanks, tim. I am glad you enjoyed the story. When I saw the prompt and sat down to write, it all just flowed out. I after the comments I got about these two, I've decided to expand this story, but not until other projects are done.
  20. Thank you! Jeff and Evie, are most defiantly getting their own story now. I'm glad people liked this little short of them.

    Show, Don't Tell

Excellent blog post, and an explanation of 'Show, Don't Tell.' The first time, I ever heard those words, it didn't have an explanation attached, and I instantly had a dislike of the whole phrase. To the point, I stopped writing for years, before I took it back up, and avoided Editors, and Beta Readers who used it. 'Show, Don't Tell' became a curse word in my dictionary. However, I am happy to see people actively explaining it, instead of just tossing it around, as a way to infer someone is writing low-class work. This. As someone that writes a ton of SciFi and Fantasy, there is a lot of Telling going on. Otherwise, your reader doesn't understand the world, or its rules, your writing about.

Thank you for reading. Yes, someone is really going to get hurt! More about Honsol will be written in future installments.
  24. Thank you for reading. I am defiantly going to be writing more about them.
  25. This is a collection of stories in the form of One-Shot Shorts, Flash Fiction, and Prompt Responses from here on GA, and around the Web. A wide variety of different types of stories in different genres and styles.
