The suspense was killing me. I really thought he was going to be too late to save Bruno. This first chapter really pulled me in to the story. Can’t wait to read the next one.

The UK boasts quite a few tired seaside resorts that might qualify. For example, Scarborough is the place to go if you want to get attacked by huge seagulls, or Skegness, where the sea is piss-coloured and the weather can kindly be described as 'bracing'. As a child, I spent many day trips at Leigh-on-Sea, which might be better called Leigh-on-Mud.

Great chapter with lots happening. It was the same in the UK after the 2nd WW when increasing mechanisation started to come into farming, A lot of small, family farms were assimilated into much larger operations and people lost land that had been owned by their families for generations. Good on Arik for showing that bully he wasn't going to get away with it. Maybe he'll think twice before trying anything like that again. Think I'd quite like to read that book about the boy saving his family from the volcano!

Thank you. I put a lot of work into that short part of the scene. Sometimes I can see the scene rolling in my head, like a film, and just try to use the right words to convey what's happening. Comes of all those years working as a cinema projectionist, I suppose. in canon, T'bor never gets over Kylara and she ends up being involved in a tragic and controversial event (I won’t say any more in case you want to read it for yourself in 'Dragonquest'). it was about time they admitted they loved each other! H'rek must have been worried sick when he got that garbled message through the dragons.

The greenery surrounding the two lakes had long since given way to more barren terrain. Volcanic ash from an eruption had spread over a wide area. From the air, everything appeared dry and dead. This reminds me painfully of my Aunt, who was a born again Christian and always trying to force her views on other people. She even sent 'missionaries' round to our house and eventually my mother had to ban her from visiting. My Aunt disowned her own son, not for being gay, but because he married a Jewish woman. -

This was so good. The facts of history can be very dry, but turning it into a story format with a sympathetic central character made the whole thing gripping. I remember Mary Whitehouse well when I was growing up. Both of my parents thought she was a repressed old bigot and in no way subscribed to her ideology, but a lot of people at that time did support her. It just goes to show how far we have come since those days. -

At last! The drive back through the darkness was magical and I loved the way the chapter slowly built to the moment we've all been waiting for. Now that Rick knows Gus feels the same way, it will be interesting to see what happens next, particularly when Rick starts getting fallout from Heinrich.

Great story, with well thought out characters. If you know nothing about horses, you'll learn lots while reading this, if, like me, you already love horses you will appreciate it all the more. Having read this, I’m now going to find all the other stories this author has written!

That would make for an interesting scenario. It's one of the reasons they wanted to keep Kylara out of the loop. However, bearing in mind that Ramoth is Prideth's mother and Lessa has a stronger personality than Kylara, I reckon Ramoth would be able to stay in control.

Just binge watched the whole series. Great drama that will make you laugh, cry and remember those terrible times.

A good start. Interesting characters, with well presented back stories. Kevin is a typical insecure teenager, comparing himself to others of his age and thinking they are more mature and attractive. Will be interested to see where you take this story.

Definitely get the feeling something slightly odd is going on here. Your English is very good. I certainly couldn’t do the same in German! You'll find that quite a few people will leave reactions but not comment. Maybe it’s because others have already said the same as they were going to, but they are still enjoying the story. -
A well told story on a subject that proved to be very topical at the time it was written. The characters were sensitively portrayed and should help everyone to understand the difficulties faced by anyone who is labelled 'different'. The more we get to know other people, the more we recognise our similarities rather than our differences.

Rina's always going to feel left out when the dragons rise, but she's grown up in the Weyr so she knows that’s how it is. Although it’s always said that the outcome of a mating flight is up to the dragons, there must be some human influence. I reckon S'brin was glad that M'rell ended up with him - after all, he and D’gar gave M'rell some ‘practical experience' when he asked about it.

This chapter revealed a lot more about Gus's past than we knew before. There are some similarities between Gus and Rick's lives. Both are under the thumb of controlling parents/guardians. It seems that Zoltan and Magda want to encourage the perception that Gus and Helene are more than just musical partners, making me think that he's probably not found it easy to have any other relationships in his life (that and the sheer amount of work he's had to put in to get where he is). Really enjoyed this chapter. I’m sure it will prove to be the calm before the storm.
