Chapter 10 Hallelujah and Amen
centexhairysub commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 10 Hallelujah and Amen
Sounds like the idea with the corral will work; and starting with the feed just inside and outside is a smart idea. Horses are smarter than most people give them credit for being. You have to let them decide it is their idea to get inside any type of fenced in area, even if their is an opening. Jubal is taken with Lucas; and I think the feeling is mutual. I do wonder exactly who in Larkspur Lucas was checking out. Jubal could always use some of his money and buy the land next to Lucas, seems we know some other men that did this as well. Excellent chapter, can't wait for the next update.- 108 comments

Jeremy's Story and Derek Comes Clean
centexhairysub commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Jeremy's Story and Derek Comes Clean
Alive but having no idea what is going on, total loss of short term memory. I have often wondered who has it worse, those that have lost that memory or those that love and care for them that don't know if those memories will ever come back.- 16 comments

What a delicious chapter. How the hell did Gideon lose the female vampire that he was trailing, it had to be her that returned and attacked Kavan. She was probably trying to ensure that her kill was discovered. Kavan was given a great gift by the Perditaj. This will allow him to navigate the other realm so much easier; plus being able to call upon him is in itself a great gift as well. I wonder if the necklace will prove to be as much of a clue as I suspect. A truly wonderful surprise to find this new chapter up, can't wait for the next one.

Poison? What exotic poison could have been used that two different shifter doctors failed to check for; or did anyone think to even look for poison? Giles is a truly gifted Alpha, and Caleb would be truly lucky to find a real home under him. Asa immediately realized the implications of what being a mate means and acted appropriately. So many thoughts swirling, have to reread and try and understand all the implications here. Caleb isn't getting rid of Asa that easily...

Wonderful chapter, Will and Travis do balance each other out in many ways. Not saying that they are a forever couple, at their age that really should not be even an option. They still have college and Stef is right, Travis has never been free to be himself, and that will come with it's own issues. I could actually see Travis being a good actor, a lot of really good performers are introverts. Travis needs to decide what he wants to do with the assets that they rescued. I really can't see him managing them at his age, and is he even really interested in that type of work? Can't wait to see what happens next. Great job Mark.

Leave it to Winkler to be the one that is there for Granger in his hour of true need. The bond they share is truly remarkable. Hate that we don't know for sure about Calvert, never my favorite, but in some ways the one most suited to be with George long term. Really hate about Gatling, I remember when he was just a ship's boy from the estate. I know that his actions hurt Granger, but I fully blame Calvert much more than Gatling for that. I truly think that Caroline has actually lost her mind. I am glad that George has his mother by his side; and the Duke and he are finding ways to mend their relationship, but will it ever be rock solid? St. Vincent has come to his senses and not a moment too soon. Wonderful update, can't wait to see what happens next.

Who the hell packs a suitcase full of dirty and inappropriate clothes and just sends the kid off without any notice, Deidre does obviously. I can tell there is going to be additional issues here, you just know the type; plus Jasper will egg her on. Glad Toby is open with his Dad and Gordon, and impressed with how Gordon is handling this. 4 I love the BEES...

Great chapter, and I think that Brian and Gordon should take the chance to live together, but maybe wait and try to get on an even keel before involving Toby. Very dangerous to try that in the Middle East, lot's of gay sex, but major taboo and very dangerous if you get caught in the wrong situation.

Brian and Toby both seem to be figuring their lives out at the same time. Hope they both realize that neither of them is truly alone, if nothing else, they have each other. Working together and being in a relationship can be tricky, but let's hope for the best. Gordon and Brian seem to connect on several levels.

Amazing the shared activities of so many no matter where they are in the world.

Denise sounds lovely, we could everyone had a mother/grandmother like her.

Interesting start, and already like Brian and Toby; and dislike Dierdre and Jasper. Flowed really really and the writing was good. Can't wait to see what is next.

The E Now Stands for Ewwww
centexhairysub commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in The E Now Stands for Ewwww
Well, let's hope he collapses in relief... Damn, what a horrible start to the week. I actually worked 911, and you just would not believe some of the stuff that happens. Did a few ride outs with Police, Fire, and EMS. EMS ride outs were always the worst. -
Well, dammit. You had to know that was going to be Caleb's reaction, but a little shocked that he actually ran. Is he strong enough to do so without hurting himself, I guess we will see. Caleb needs to understand that no one is looking at him with disgust or any negative feelings; it is only his own feelings that are causing him to believe that. He needs therapy and stat. Of course, unless he is willing to do the work, that won't actually help him any. Can't wait to see who goes after him and what happens next.

Good story that appears to be the first in a series. The writing and characterizations are well done. The pacing is generally good but a few chapters were either a little bumpy or a little loosey goosey but neither detracted from the story. The "secret" was never really much of a secret except to the main character, the reader should figure it out quickly. That said, the fact the reader is in on the secret does not hurt the story at all, and in some ways enhances it. The lore behind the story doesn't seem to follow any established ones, and appears to be original but so far is well done. Quick read and enjoyable, can't wait for the next book.

Well, that is a horrible way to find out. I have never understood why people find barns romantic; there are always a million ways to get seriously hurt. Scott finally said the word, vampire. Greg seems calm, but will he remain so? Excellent chapter, can't wait to see what happens next. What lore are you using for the characterizations for Scott and his family? This doesn't seem to follow any of the established ones really.

Jubal has a great idea; if they can pin the herd of horses, minus the stallion because not sure that would be wise, they could get the horses they want and if they can break the others, make a fine profit. Can't wait to see how this plays out. I do think that Jubal is on the right track with Reid. Lucas isn't ready to open up, and that is fine, but Reid is clearly not happy that Jubal is staying around at least so close to Lucas. Have to wonder who was involved in Jubal being drug behind a horse, and how long ago was it. True windows were rare in log cabins and tricky to put in. That said, they made a world of difference, but you definitely need shutters for them as well. Great chapter, can't wait to see what happens next.

What a chapter, loved how the guys quickly pivoted based on the new information and quickly decided what to do. They do need to tell their friends but I agree they need to have everything further along before they do. And what the hell, it amazes me how someone people will see someone that is younger and just assume they have no clue and try to take charge. Love how they but Ms. Bossy in her place. Excellent chapter, can't wait for the next update.

Asa did the right thing and then was shocked by the behavior of the hunters; when in actuality very few people do the right thing just for the sake of doing so. Asa knew about the pack and his actions saved Caleb; but will Caleb actually be happy about that, I doubt it. Caleb will probably think that he would be out of his misery now, except for the actions of Asa. Ah, so a light shifter, pretty rare to encounter one of the them. Wonder why he has chosen to isolate himself, what is his backstory going to be. Excellent update, but like @weinerdog impatient for the next update as well.

You know, I think it is genetic. Car salesman are either predisposed to be idiots or brilliant; rarely anything in between. The boys are thinking like businessmen, and it is great to see. They are also smart enough to know what they don't know and seek advise. Well written, can't wait to see what happens next.

Honestly, this is not the first time you have commented and seemed to equate wealth with a cushy life; but I can tell you from personal experience that is not always true. I am not saying that Will has had some nightmare life that he has bravely overcome; but there have been a lot of issues that he has had to deal with that could have crippled him emotionally. True, the kidnapping in Paris and the loss of Robbie and Jeanine and even Hank to a lesser extent were horrible. But don't forget what he had to go through when Jeanine had her breakdown, when JJ had his breakdown and all that was associated with all of those issues, when Marie had her breakdown and his involvement in that, and then almost being killed by a Cartel hit squad. Plus, many issues and tragedies that have happened because his family is wealthy and has enemies. Not sure why you feel the need to constantly remind everyone how wealthy the family is, we all know that, and how it has somehow cushioned everything they have ever had to deal with, it hasn't. Wealth does not insulate you from pain and tragedies; but allows you better ways to perhaps seek help and recover from them.

I swear it is a right of passage that Stef and Wil seem to take these delightful young men shopping. Loved the symbolism of the phone, it was meaningful in it's own way. Will has truly not had an easy life. Yes, it is buffered by his families wealth; but he has had truly trying times and issues that would have broken many in his place, but he has come through it stronger than before. I just love how Will and Travis have this shorthand and Will seems to be able to pick up on when Travis is ebbing and flowing and reacts to it so appropriately. Leave it to JP to make sure that Travis is getting back on track with his studies. JP is the bomb, but first and foremost he is truly an educator on his base level. What a great chapter...

No one can help Caleb until Caleb decides that he is willing to be helped and that will start by trying to forgive himself. Caleb has found himself in a good place with good people and a good Alpha; but until he is ready none of that matters. Caleb needs to start looking forward to his future; and learn to put the past where it belongs. Excellent start to this new story.
