Ah damn, I never thought about the fact that besides draining the slaves to keep them compliant; Leanne and the other masters would be able to call upon their power to supplement their own. I know that Hideyoshi is strong; but if Leanne can pull from over 20 other people with power; he may have wished that he had additional backup as well. Do none of these parents know who any of their children's friends are? It just seems weird to me. Plus Jacqueline works with Peter; don't you think that with both of their kids going to the same school; they would have some idea they knew each other and were friends? I can't wait for the next chapter, I can't wait for 23 to come face to face with Caleb when he tries to rescue her. Keep up the great work.

Well, we know that whoever this Leanne is she knows who the Toranaga family is and the threat it would represent to her and her associates. Leanne does not really appear to me to be the boss or even near the top; she comes across as upper mid level management. I am surprised that Caleb would have trusted her about 23, surely he would have realized that she would not give both of them up that easily. And we still don't know how 23 is going to react. I hope that Charlie is going to be safe, do not think that James will react well if he isn't. And still want to know who is the target that 23 was sent after. Granny got some game.... Leanne makes it sound like she is really the one to fear...

This chapter was just a delight from start to finish. Even the yelling and fighting was so over the top soap opera that it really worked on several levels. Loved the dialogue and the pacing; both were first rate. Can't wait to see what happens next....

History has through the years been one of my great passions. I truly believe that if we don't understand the past; we can never make a workable future. That being said, Mark has a true gift. He obviously loves history as well; but he has the talent and drive to create real art with his knowledge. So, while I will continue with my comments and blasts on occasion, let's all thank Mark for the real joy he has brought to our lives with his talent...

Glad Tasha got there in time to help get James home; I know that we shouldn't really fully trust Caleb, but I do. I hope that this works and James giving up that much magic was for the best. I hope that his grandparents were able to get to Charlie, but still want to know who 23 was going after. I sort of wondered at one time if it wasn't Bex, but how would they know yet if she was going to come into her powers or not. I hope that Caleb is able to harness this power and free himself and 23; but I also hope that we find out who his masters are and they get their asses spanked big time.

I am starting to try and figure out which crown head of Europe that Granger will not have slept with before this saga is done with??? Loved the chapter; although there were rumors then and still to this day about how much the British Ambassador and British government was involved with the assassination; no definitive proof either way has ever been offered and accepted. Most historian at least tacitly agree that the Tsarevich had to been aware of the plot before hand, if not to kill his father at least remove him from the throne. The Tsarina did make a play for power; but it was not long lasting or even seemingly full hearted. Granger and his men are thankfully free to leave the palace and go back to the warm embrace of the Stroganov family. He also made sure that Daventry understood that he needed to be elsewhere when the new came out. I honestly wonder how Granger manages to keep everyone on the straight and narrow so to speak. Well done, Mark, another wonderful chapter to the story.

I had a horrible idea when I heard the name in the last chapter that it was James's friend from school. I don't think his last name was ever mentioned just Charlie. I don't know who these people think they are; but I have a feeling that they just bit off more than they can chew. Caleb might have an issue fighting back at them but James and by extension Tasha, Casper, and James's family will not. After what happened when she was younger and having her first partners dead body dumped in the bed next to her and left there all day when they tried to escape; you do understand why 23 feels and acts the way she does. She is in her own best way trying to protect Caleb. That being said, I have to wonder who the young girl is that she is being sent after. OMG, I cannot await the coming battle over this...

Ah, so now we know why at least one group wanted the bird like creatures. Well, interesting conversation to start things off with; and some good background on the elven culture in this story. You can almost understand James's reaction when he found out, the need to lash out at something, anything... So, how will this new character be drawn into our group; you have to feel that is what will happen: or is Charles Vance the Charlie that James's likes from school? If so this lady better be ready for the repercussions coming down the pike... Can't wait for the next update...

Well, Stacy will never forget this date.... I am glad that Vincent was able to get there in time to save Dave and make sure that Stacy was not exposed to anything else; but that conversation is going to be a doozy... Vincent needs to let go and allow his wolf to take charge in this instance. Although, I do worry about how much energy it took for them to get there from New York that fast. But I still can't see this Alpha being strong enough to take Vincent. Plus Vincent should have extra power still left saved up in the bracelet. Kordell has arrest for domestic violence, usually the mark of a coward that hits someone that is not capable of actually fighting back. We need the next update pronto, although I don't doubt the outcome.

Tsuru is the bomb... War is always great for someone or some group. It allows horrible things to occur with few people noticing; it allows people to make boatloads of money; acquire power and property; and so many more horrible things. Not sure what the next move will be; but I do feel that Caleb will get some help from this group. I know that Tasha and Hideyoshi don't really trust or care that much about Caleb, but with that last announcement; everyone needs to be up to date with this new group.

WOW, really lost all respect for S'brin in this chapter. What happens on a mating flight is one thing; but to bring the other rider back to the weyr he shares with D'gar is just way to much.... Maybe I won't care as much when he dies...

Okay, I understand why 23 might not want to escape, look what happened before; but if she doesn't know what is going to happen and decides to fight it, could cause more problems for everyone. How much older is 23 than Caleb? Okay, so glad that James apologized to Casper and glad that Casper came clean about getting a teacher. That being said, is he considering Father one of his teachers? Casper used the male pronoun when talking about the teacher but both we know of are female? I do wish everyone would be more open, I know it is not really realistic in a story and setting like this but still, something I can wish for...

Let me say that I truly hate Father; but that said, there are those people, usually men, that truly do not understand that their attraction and feelings for teens or adolescents are wrong. I have had to deal with just a few like that over the years, usually in court mandated therapy but some in private practice as well. They sincerely believe that what they are doing is okay. I guess that Father could be like that; and then on top of his gift, which causes euphoria in most; it simply reinforces what he truly believes. While I am glad that Casper has told somebody; he would have been better off telling Peter or the therapist; or hell even James.

Heartbreaking but never underestimate the cruelty of the human animal.

You just don't f#&k with Mother Nature. The planet tends to know what really needs to happen; while the fires are horrible and homes and lives are lost; humans have moved into areas that really were not habitable for a reason. We have screwed with water tables, rivers, deserts, and so much more and then wonder why nature bites back at times. Good interaction through out this chapter, writing was excellent and flowed well. God help everyone if Lachlan gets hurt bad; Brandon will come unglued.

Another great chapter, sorry to see the message at the end of the chapter that this wonderful story may be drawing to a conclusion. The writing and character development has just been remarkable. Another wonderful chapter, I thought that Andiya handled Lady Baiza as well as could have been expected. I do hope that Lord Temu doesn't forget himself and give something away, like Kastan, he can't see what is right in front of him because of the past and familiarity of it all. Jihan knows that Rashan is the future; he wants to make sure that he is as prepared as possible to deal with it all. That being said, Firuz may train Rashan to some extent but never as a Shadow Warrior. Rashan has a different path ahead of him. He must be strong and skilled; but needs to hold onto his heart and be able to access feelings that Shadow Warriors have to bury. Wonderful chapter, can't wait for what is left...

Great update, so glad that Kastan has started to realize some of what Jihan has had to deal with his whole life. I can't wait to see how Lord Revi and the damn Empress deal with Kastan taking that many men into the Iron Lands. But with Kastan sending the note to the Emperor about declaring peace when he reaches the palace, while going there through the Iron Lands; it may neutralize some of their side plays but not all of them. Glad that Jihan is starting to realize how potentially dangerous Lady Baiza is; even if Kastan really doesn't. She is like the viper waiting in the grass, unnoticed my most until it is too late. Glad that Andiya is going with Jihan and Rashan. She will be able to help them both deal with Kastan being away. Can't wait to see what happens next, thankfully, I can right now...

Really enjoyed this chapter; it was almost a break from the stress and drama of the last few. I thought that Natalie handled the session with James almost picture perfect. She is slowly getting him to see how the rapist actions don't reflect on him or his potential feelings but only on the rapist himself. She was always able to draw him out about Casper really well, I think she realizes how much they both need each other still. OMG, with friends like Liz, who needs enemies... Great chapter...

No matter how many of the newer generations prove interesting; this chapter just reminds me how much I truly adore JP. His character development from the first story going forward has just been exceptional. I know he truly has not been the focus of a story for some time; but each time he shows up it just tugs at my heartstrings and memories so deeply. Stef is always a delight as well, and while I enjoy each of his appearances, nothing can top JP showing up in a story for me, even if it is just here and there. Will handled the situation with Connie leaving so well; he is so much more level headed then Brad was at that age. I too believe that they might find themselves slipping in and out of each others lives again at some point; would be nice to see. Will was able to help Stef understand why it was okay to give Tom and try. Stef has always had an issue with dwelling on something negative, and usually JP, but Will in this case has to make him realize that positives often can outweigh whatever the negative issue is. Can't wait to see what our maestro has in store for our beloved characters next; but I bet it will be sexy, fabulous, and oh so, fun....

Well, would rather that James discussed this with Peter, his father, but at least he is discussing it with someone. The training was awesome; well until it wasn't. I have to wonder if there is a way for James to shield the form that he takes when he loses his shape? Maybe learn a spell that acts as a forcefield or shield? Several people seem to have a version of that; but is it tied to their ability or to a spell? Flowed really well, really good chapter...

Going to assume that no one has any idea that the mercenaries responsible for the Crown Princess death were at least nominally controlled or acting under orders from the Imperial Commander/Duke? Elena seems just a tad to annoyed with the Duke without enough of an explanation; there has to be something more there. Michael is going to have his hands full with this all the way around...

Well, I may have to come up with a scorecard to try and keep everyone and their connection to everyone else straight. Dates would be nice, how long since the prologue has it been since this occurrence? This chapter flowed much better and the writing was very descriptive.

Okay, not sure how this is going to go; but enough of a mystery for me to at least move forward. Writing was good but the pacing wasn't smooth as I would have expected. Just enough of the background so you know sort of what is going on; but not really sure how the players revolve around each other. Could be the start of a grand adventure.

Okay, wow, I just don't even know how to handle this one. It is f&%#ed up on so many levels. Just when you truly believe you might have possible seen the worst of humanity, you realize you are not even close to that. The people that bred Caleb need to be wiped from the face of the earth along with all of their progeny. No one with their genes should be allowed to live. I truly do hope that James doesn't try to help Caleb and his partner on his own; this is one of those things that he needs to involve someone else to make sure everything is handled properly.

I am going to be so pissed if anything really horrific happens to Dave or Stacy, still can't get a full read on her but... We still don't really know who the mister i am the big bad wolf is or what is real issue is; but I can't wait for him to meet some of the other Alphas in this area. I am so enjoying Cyrus, he is just really different from any other shifter that I have come across in any story. He is truly a breathe of fresh air. I almost feel sorry for Wagner, almost; but you know there just has to be something that is driving his behavior. Can't wait for the next update, let's make it snappy...
