Okay, that went just like I would have expected. Well, except for the fact that his therapist has a tie to his new friend. It can be very hard to establish a level of trust with any therapist; but when a child has been violated like James has, then that is even harder to do. The therapist really is doing just what she should be doing, it will just take time...

Okay, Father sounds more than a little creepy, I may have been wrong about the cult thing... Glad that Casper and James seem to be trying to work through their issues...
-
Okay, color me confused. So Peter and his whole family have abilities, why call them deviant? This chapter opens up a lot more questions then it even comes close to answering...
-
Not sure that I think it is truly a cult; do they all come with some type of ability? Could they have banded together to protect themselves? I do realize that they are all probably selling themselves but still....
-
So, we need a little back story on Casper and Tasha... Did they have someone teach them about the abilities they have, are they already on a database somewhere? Or did they just work it out themselves? May prove to be a really interesting group dynamic...
-
James is going to have to figure out how to work on his control and not in a public area.... I know he doesn't know he is being observed at least to some extent, but doesn't want to give them any information... So know we have Tasha, without drawing Casper in as well.
-
Honestly, this is why that no one that doesn't live totally alone ever needs a pillow under their pillow. Why did Peter's parents work to make him that vigilant? WIW, so James is going to able to fly or at least levitate... Is the ability triggered by strong emotions? Does having strong feelings make it easier to access the ability?
-
So James and Casper are going to be linked because they are in school together. I am not sure that I really want to know what Casper's home life is like, not sure that I could deal with it right now. I think it is interesting h ow Casper sort of tries to deal with his ability and how he works to keep it from overwhelming him. I appreciate the fact that he did not try to dig into the emotions that is is feeling off of James.
-
So we haven't even gotten to whatever the deviant ability that James is supposed to posses and we have two more that posses really different abilities. I would not want to have the ability to sense emotions; or at least not to the level that Casper does. How would you ever stay on an even keel yourself????

Had a friend recommend this story so giving it a shot. I find the phrase deviation abilities eerily disturbing. The noes and comments from the supervisor makes it seem like whatever ability they are talking about is something that is not generally known and they are trying to keep it a secret. Is this in the US? What year; something current or in the future or??? A truly novel approach to the start of this story, can't wait to see what happens with it.

Chapter 7: Abhorrent Alpha
centexhairysub commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 7: Abhorrent Alpha
Well, I thought the new Alpha was in New York City, but if he can't sense the fact that there are two Alphas there right now; he either isn't very strong or he isn't there. The way the guys talked and the bar descriptions make me think they are in a smaller rural area, close to Mason and Vincent perhaps? I get nothing but bad vibes from this whole part of the story... WOW, so amazed that Vincent can control his hybrid form so quickly... The duel between Elaine and Yakob was as interesting and varied as I expected; of course with the interruption of Caleb by mistake, we don't know who would have really won... Vincent handled the situation with Mason and Caleb just perfect. Mason is going to have to get better at communication with his leadership group. Can't wait to see what happens next... p.s. Wasn't there four shifters plus the new Alpha, what happened to the other shifter? -
OMFG, I so did not expect this total massacre. So much death from the vanity of Fergus; was this the total pack? You know that some can't change and the young, what will happen to them? Is it even possible to explain the disappearance of so many; even if they did keep themselves isolated? Epic battle but it left as many questions as it did answers...
-
Why does the villain always want to give a speech before they finish their dastardly plot? I don't know how Fergus got upstairs without anyone else knowing; but you know that only he or Jimmy will survive this; and not sure how much help Sawyer is going to be since he can't control his wolf and is rabid... Great job.

Bloody Hell, you definitely do not mess with a taipan. Not only are they among the deadliest snakes in the world; the the coastal taipan is not only very large and fast, but will actually attack if it feels that it is under attack. The inland taipan is more shy and generally not as aggressive but is equally deadly, I think there is even a third type but don't know much about it. Why would they have let anyone into the condo; especially someone that they knew was on a watch list? Sounds like more to that then Tom is thinking about. Will understands the repercussions and will have to move to make sure others do as well. I hope that this doesn't hurt Connie more than we realize, you can have issues with someone from your past, but a dead can change how you really feel about it. Loved everything about the visit to Uluru, it is truly magnificent. I am pretty sure that you can no long set foot on it. Totally understand Will's issues with the tourist, and usually the American and Chinese tourist are truly the most obnoxious. A wonderful addition, Mark. Do hope you are continuing to feel better and hope that those on your team are as well.

Chapter 28- The Interview
centexhairysub commented on Westarcher's story chapter in Chapter 28- The Interview
This postscript was so nice, thank you, it did answer a few questions and left us with a few new ones... LOL... I do hope that you choose to revisit this story in the future, so many interesting characters and so much material to work with... Thanks for the wonderful journey... -
Thank you for this second chapter so close after the last one. Flowed beautifully from one to the other, just perfect. I do love how we focused on those in the immediate family, and yes, everyone in this one was family by bond if not by blood. I do want to see how Lady Baiza and the Empress handle what is to come, Lord Revi will truly get what is coming to him...

Love the interaction between Brandon and Lucas, way too funny. I would think that you needed people that you trusted but also that made you laugh and feel comfortable to do what this group is doing. Have only been near a few large fires before; and know that I would never be able to do what this people do, the terror that is involved when looking at an out of control fire is overwhelming. Well written and flowed really well.

OMG, loved everything about this chapter. So well written and the pacing was just amazing. I am afraid that the Empress and Lady Baiza will be in for a shock when their informants are updating them; perhaps Lady Baiza more than the Empress. The Emperor will have to act, maybe the Imperial Princes should visit their cousin the Marquis, have to wonder if the Empress would continue this attack with her own children there. Lord Revi will die, maybe not soon but in the end and very painfully. I truly don't understand the Empress, does she simply not understand what is truly going on? Can't wait for the next update.... Bravo...

Was hooked from the first chapter, well written and the pacing was good throughout the story. Character development was first rate, although a few times characters just disappeared and you were never fully sure that happened to them. That said, you did care greatly about the main ones; shed more than a few tears on a couple of chapters. Ends rather abruptly, but a nice tie up for most of those you care about. Well done.

Well, you did that well, until the last moment I really thought that Alex did not survive. Well written per usual, and the pacing truly was good throughout this story. Like others, I am left to wonder how they got out and what happened to Finn, perhaps he came back and saved Alex and Wesley and in doing so lost his life; but we may never truly know. I could see a second book easily with this one, but I do understand how hard that is to do sometimes. Congrats on finishing this one; had me hooked from the start. Bravo.

Chapter 6: Healing Heart
centexhairysub commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 6: Healing Heart
Just truly loved this chapter; the various interactions were so well done. I can't wait to see Yakob and Miss Elaine do battle, even if it is just sparring. It is actually sort of good that Vincent had to back down from Lei. I think he needs to learn that as strong as he is becoming, their will always be someone just as strong or stronger that could be out there. The first section with Cyrus and Kaplan was truly magical. Kaplan's view on what happened and what the scars should represent was so amazing. Loved everything about how they both interacted and felt toward each other. Can't wait for the next update... -
On February 25th, 1801; there would have been less than 30 days until the assassination of Tsar Paul I, and the ascension to the throne of Tsar Alexander I. The discussion by Granger on what would happen mirrors greatly the 1st Battle of Copenhagen. The British crushed the Danish navy, although the British did suffer more damage than Granger suspected, after all, the HMS Elephant, Vice Admiral Nelson's own ship was so damaged that it ran aground after the battle. As Granger predicted, the Swedish navy did not come to the assistance of the Danish forces and Nelson sailed to Reval but the Russian fleet had already sailed out. He found out their that the dismantling of the League of Armed Neutrality was already in progress and sailed back to Copenhagen. An interesting tidbit, the Danes found out about the assassination of Tsar Paul I before they signed the armistice; this freed the Danes from worrying about reprisals from Russia and made it much easier for them to sign the agreement. The British did not find out about this until afterwards. George Granger is in my opinion one of the greatest literary creations of all time. Everything about him, his behavior, and even his idiosyncrasies is so finely attunded and written that it makes him almost irresistible. Just when I think this story can't get any better, it does... Bravo, Mark, Bravo...

Wonderful chapter, just flowed beautifully. I guess it would be hard to replace someone, have to learn the quirks of the other dragons and riders that are use to flying with someone else.
-
Truly appreciate the update but I believe we all understand with what is going on. Just hope that he continues to improve and we all await with delight any new chapter that we receive from you and your team....
-
Great chapter, but much like Brandon, I have never understood the use of rape as a joke in any fashion. Flowed nicely and well written, can't wait for the next update.
