A response to Prompt #68:

Imagine where your character leads a pretty decent single life. Then there is a phone call and that life is turned upside down as they find out, they have just become a parent—to a teenager. Is this a cousin that has been left with no other family members? A god child? A niece or nephew? What is this first meeting between them going to be like?

The circumstances whereby Manny obtains guardianship are a little strange, to say the least. Not to mention what happens afterward.

Jeremiah is picked up by the police after being caught digging up a body in a cornfield in the middle of the night. His explanation leaves investigators with more questions than answers.

Liam Taylor is finally at the stupor of his life. His deadline is approaching for his latest true crime work, his best friend is any and all liquor, and his real best friend is his supplier. He's still haunted by what could have been, and what should have been, after the event that tore his family apart.

What happens when this magic man is called to aid an injured soldier and his poor nephew?
