Brody and Jace have been inseparable best friends since the first day of kindergarten. By the time they reached high school, they were boyfriends hiding their love from pretty much everybody. They're full of hope and plans for a future together when graduation's just a few months distant. But lying about a weekend away leads to both families discovering their secret. All the choices that led them to that moment are complicated by a flurry of heat-of-the-moment choices made by both sets of parents. In the end, Brody and Jace make a few more choices that may just alter the future for everybody.

Sometimes life isn’t fair. Fifteen-year-old Richie Ferguson must learn this lesson the hard way when his mother dies of cancer and he is forced to live with a father who left the family two years earlier for another woman. Richie’s life becomes a storm, whirling around with no sense of purpose or direction. Will the tumultuous winds destroy him, or will he find a calm sea in time to save his own life?

Short stories are definitely not my strong suit, and this attempt soon became a continuous story inspired by the challenge of First Line prompts.

I have long enjoyed the writings of DomLuka. His two stories, Desert Droppings and With Trust are two of my favorite gay, coming of age stories.

Unfortunately, Dom never posted an ending to With Trust, which disappointed me tremendously, because I always wanted to know if Nelson got his painter.

So here’s my fanfiction ending to With Trust; it won’t make any sense unless you have read the original story, so go read that first.

If anyone else wants to write an alternative ending, I’d love to read that too!
