Brion, a high school athlete, suffers an accident that changes his life. Surmounting the resulting difficulties is not easy.

Ten years later, nearing his college graduation, he attends a presentation that once again changes the course of his life.

They had been pulled apart, their mother slowly falling into her mind, when he had been six. But now their mother had died just a month before and her will had asked for them to come together at least one last time to get what she has left behind for them.

They thought they would walk away with a piece of liquidated estate and money for their own lives.

They hadn't expected to find themselves coming back together as siblings.

This story is autobiographical in nature, but I have made some modifications to protect the identities of those included in it. All the names have been changed, and in some cases things such as gender, locations, and sometimes familial compositions have been altered.

All that being said, this is MY truth, and it's time I released it so that I'm free to create from a place other than brokenness and sadness.

This will be dark, but there are spots of light in the great black. No void is truly empty when one gazes into it. The light from our eyes illuminates more than we realize.

An imp from Hell teams up with an angel from Heaven for joint missions in the human world. With Imp focusing on sex and Angel on love, their goals differ considerably. Imp is determined to win the wicked game and if he can annoy Angel along the way, so much better.

Being the oldest and growing up in a large family can be hard, especially when you are gay and the family is extremely homophobic. You are constantly being compared to your deceased father. A man whose stature and deeds are always increasing, as time goes by, and are held up as your goals. Anytime you reach those goals, your mother moves the goalpost further away.

You never seem to measure up. You are always being told that you are worthless and will never amount to anything since you cannot measure up to your father. It never mattered that you were a straight "A" student and that you were an athlete.

This story, set in the Sanitaria Springs universe, follows Dylan Whalen who was introduced in the short story 'Curious Nate'. Some of his history may be pertinent to a complete understanding of this story, but it isn't required.
