Boccaccio's Decameron, a story of renewal and recreation in defiance of a decimating pandemic, relates how ten self-isolated Italians pass the time regaling each other with tall tales during the Black Plague. While Covid19 wasn't nearly as decimating, the opportunity for such entertainment did exist. As a takeoff on that idea, this short story might well be a modern version of one of the tales, recounting events of earlier, less stressful times.

Here I shall post my short stories (1,000 words up to around 10,000) and my flash stories (under 1,000 words).

Randy Watson had been mostly happy with his life of hopping from one women’s bed to another in his small town of Burney. Things changed when he met a sexy man working in town for the summer. He not only ended up with one boyfriend, but two. On top of that, he found out both men were something called a lycan. His final surprise was being asked if he wanted to become one too.

Bill Vickers is a man with many names. He works for the government but what he does isn't so nice. For a long time he's been tracking the elusive Lane Hardy and finds him on Adermoor Cove.

For a long time Lane Hardy has been on the run from the darkness and his own bloody past, but it seems the past as finally caught up with him.

Patrick is a writer for a food magazine. Although Christmas is over it doesn't mean the work is. Cancelling out on his sister's dinner he asks for a raincheck. He gets it only to have it called in for that weekend. His niece has just graduated college. Now he will need to deal with snow storms, delayed flights, young adults, a crush, and a fall. Pat will have to deal it all, just maybe later.

This is a sequel to “Fairy Dust” and will probably make more sense if you read the first story first. Two computer geeks have too much time on their hands. They decide to take a road trip, which takes them back to Green Hollow. On their last trip to the small town they had met a brother and sister. Now they return hoping to spend some time with the good-looking siblings. As before, things do not go as planned.

Two men, each facing Christmas alone. Throw in an office party, snow storm and an overly rambunctious dog and you have all the makings of one truly memorable night.

It happens sometimes....

Even the best of friends can sometimes grow apart during their adolescent years. And it hurts Dylan even more when romantic feelings begin to blossom for the boy who you keep close to your heart. So when a new boy comes along to rival his favorite boy's attention, will Dylan find a way to regain his status in his sweetheart's eyes? Or will he lose it all to the cutie who has seemingly captured his affections?

A young man agrees to meet an admirer on Valentine's Day, and both witness how fate can work behind the scenes.
