Musings of a Messed Up Mind - 16. Illusions of Love and The Trickster
Illusions of Love
Love is a desperation, an illusion, only hope.
We tell each other I love you, but it’s not real.
Each of us is single, like a lone spinning planet,
that the universe steers like a drunken man.
And we crash together, and love and lust.
Like flickering lights, our power flashes bright.
Until, like the sun, it fades and falls into dark.
We are alone again, facing the endless void.
But some lights don’t go out, don’t die.
They stay and grow and believe - together.
Are they alone, or is there more?
I want there to be ....
The Trickster
And then you're gone and I am alone again
I miss your voice and the smell of you
Refusing the tears that threaten
Knowing I'm stronger than that, I breathe
But the victory is short-lived, I fool myself
Pretending I am something – on my own
I am a falsehood, a sham, a trickster
For without you, I am naught.
I appreciate your reviews and likes ... Thank you.
