Timmy's Journal - 51. Chapter 51

A couple of poems, one about how I felt walking home yesterday.
The second, well I wonder often how it would be to be gone. Odd I know. And well, I just want you to know what i feel, in case the worst happens.

Autumn

The skies are steely gray, thick, dense and dark

Cracks in the felted skies leak warming rays

Beneath my feet the sidewalk is stained with ghosts

Of glorious leaves, that fall red, gold and pink

Shower me like tears shed by the weeping sun

Say

They tell me I’ll be all right

How do they know?

How can they say?

What if I’m not, I’ll not know

But you may wonder

So what do I say?

How do I tell you what you mean?

Explain that to you?

What words can I say?

So if I don’t come back

Know that you’re in my heart

There’s no more I need to say.

Thank you for reading! Please let me know if these touched you. I love to hear your thoughts.

These were both unbelievably touching, tim.

Let's pray in a few days this nagging worry will be but a memory, and you'll sing for us again!

LOL! skinny, pray you never hear me sing! Hehe. I'm not really worried cuz if I die on the table I won't know ... more concerned about those left behind. If there is any awareness afterwards, I'll be pissed if I can't talk to people! Thanks for the sweet kisses!

Autumn is an awesome, grand-slam, lotto-jackpot, keep-for-a-lifetime poem. Every line brims with fantastic images: felted skies, a sidewalk stained with ghosts, a carpet of leaves conjured in my mind; and tears shed by the weeping sun. This poem is one I will cherish, memorize, and best of all, post on my classroom door.
Say makes me want to weep, knowing how apprehensive you may be feeling. And yet you spare us all a moment of comfort, too. I cannot know anything with certainty, except that my heart goes out to you in hope and love and thanks.

I understand the second reflection. No matter how many say not to worry, we still do... ... and I loved what you painted with the first one xo... Gary....

Thanks Gary... you're right we do think about it. I don't feel worried really. But I just want to make sure people know. Glad you liked the first one. I walked by the most gorgeous tree yesterday and i love how the sidewalk is stained with leaf shapes...

hugs Gary xoxo

You bring back memories. We don’t have many broad-leaved trees around here, but I remember the autumn scene you describe perfectly from being a kid. Like Parker, I too love the stained leaf and ghost image on the sidewalk, and the felted sky above. Both analogies are inspired and perfect.

For the second one, you feel apprehensive going into your surgery, and that's natural. I don’t get 'sad' from it though, only a hope that if occurs, your loved ones know they are loved. It's charming and comforting.

Thanks for posting these.

I felt it walking home by this most wonderful tree. All golden, reds and pink. And i love the images the leaves leave on the sidewalk, it fascinates me. The clouds looked like sheets of felted wool..

Just want people to know how i feel about them.. all of you.

thanks for the lovely review xoxo

Autumn paints a wonderfully vivid picture.. I love it..

I guess it's okay to be worried. Everyone will be waiting when you recover and you can say all over again how much they're loved..

More worried about all of you i love. Me, well I'll just be gone, but you all wont be. So i had to tell you. Glad you liked Autumn.. thanks for reading.. i appreciate it.. xoxo

You've definitely captured the mood of these sorts of days. If it were earlier in the day, I'd probably write something more verbose, but it's not flowing right now. November kind of does that to a person. Well, a person like me, anyway. As for the second... we feel pain for what we lose, and for what we fear we may lose, and for what we fear our loves may lose. But the greatest thing of all is that the pain is surrounded by time and memories that are the most valuable thing we can cherish despite worldly impermanence. A soul's touch at a distance, a hand and a hug.

Sorry I missed this Lux!! Thanks for reading them. Hope you're surviving November ...
