Poetry posted in this category are works of fiction. Names, places, characters, events, and incidents are created by the authors' imaginations or are used fictitiously. Any resemblances to actual persons (living or dead), organizations, companies, events, or locales are entirely coincidental.

NaPoWriMo - 2017 - 7. April 7 : Forbidden Self

Prompt : The Warning
Let your poem imply a story through the narrator’s warning to another character. The Warning Let your poem imply a story through the narrator’s warning to another character. Try to give your poem the rich energy, humor, and specificity.

PS : I done some edits as I promised. The changes are in bold letters.

Forbidden Self

You should not be here
Gawking at mass
Admiring beauty.

You should not get bound
Fall for good looks
And lay down your heart.

You should not betray
Hurting a soul
And just never care.

My indigent heart!
Take my warning
Don't make me hurt you.

Oh! My selfless soul!
I forbid you,
To clasp love, for life.

A big thanks to Val for helping me by providing me the prompts. Thanks to all for reading, liking, and reviewing. All mistakes are surely mine.

Sounds like a good advise. I really like it. Hugs Lyssa

It should sound like a warning, but I don't mind if it sounds like an advice. I am glad you liked. But I did made some changes if you want to take a look. Thanks for reading and reviewing Lyssa. I really appreciate it. *Hugs*

This is another one of my favorite prompts so far from this year.  I've written two so far. ;) I liked your take on it. :)

I can say this is not my take. I am so poor at warnings. So it has been fun to write one. I am glad you liked it. And I really appreciate for reading and reviewing my work. And if you want to take a look again, I had added some changes to it. Thank you so much Val. :)

Great prompt and I love your interpretation of it. We shouldn't get caught up in the external and the way things "look", therefore risking heartbreak. We're much better off valuing people for what's inside of them. Beauty fades.

I totally agree. Actually I am glad you understood the real meaning of my poem. But the situation,  which inspired me, is quite different on that day. That's another matter though. Thank you for the great review. I really appreciate your efforts. If you like to take a look again, I have made some changes to it.
