Poetry posted in this category are works of fiction. Names, places, characters, events, and incidents are created by the authors' imaginations or are used fictitiously. Any resemblances to actual persons (living or dead), organizations, companies, events, or locales are entirely coincidental.

NaPoWriMo - 2017 - 8. April 8 : Emi, A Man of Mistakes

Prompt : Talk To or About Mistakes
Form a list of your mistakes so that it somehow becomes a poem. The trick is to make some items on your list be mistakes anyone can relate to, to make some items hint at involved stories, and to let others simply remain mysterious. An alternate prompt might be to address your mistakes or to philosophize about mistakes.

You are going to see some new things about me here. And all I ask is say what do you think of this new Emi...

Emi, A Man of Mistakes

It a mistake
To trust someone
And blindly believe in them

It's a mistake
To have false hope
And falling for the wrong guy

It's a mistake
To loose the scopes
And benefitting the others

It's a mistake
To interfere
And argue on siblings' matters

It's a mistake
To be hostile
And dump words on your parents

It's a mistake
To self accuse
And be repugnant towards self

I am not an imperfect
I wanted to say
Yet some mistakes are there
Yet some realisation that hit hard

A big thanks to Val for helping me by providing me the prompts. Thanks to all for reading, liking, and reviewing. All mistakes are surely mine.

~Emi.

Oh boy, my poem of mistakes could go on for pages and pages. And more pages. Yours are definitely relatable, Emi! In particular, being harsh and repugnant about our own selves. It's an easy pattern to fall into. We are our own worst critics. Thanks for sharing. Cheers - Mac

Hi Emi,

you poem holds many emotions. And I think there are really a lot of things everyone of us felt. But how nice it is, that we are nonconforming creatures. That makes us all sharing something, dosen`t it? Don`t be too hard on yourself, in your life. We have all the time we need, to become what we can be.

There are some that say we are on Earth as part of our education, so we can earn our place at God's side. I don't believe that myself, but it's interesting. If it were true, then this is the time and place to make mistakes and learn from them. Don't be too hard on yourself, but do as you do, Emi. You are honest, but the hardest person to be honest with is ourselves. Love yourself enough to be, but i think you already are. Very insightful poem, Emi. Very nice.  xo

That was beautiful, Emi. I think everyone could relate to much, if not all, of your mistakes. I, personally, relate to all of them!

As Mac, Lyssa, and Tim said, don't be so hard on yourself. We are our own worst critics. It's so true.

I can't say it much better than Mac, Lyssa, and tim said.  We all make mistakes.  It's how we deal with them that matters. :)

We're all works in progress, and your poem reminds us to keep that in mind. Always. Well said.

I know no human in this world perfect. Everyone do mistakes. But confessing them is like understanding yourself to the core. As well as self loathing is common in everyone. I am glad I took this prompt. And I totally agree that we are our worst critics. I am glad to share these feelings and all. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it.

Love you all. And about time, I hope for that too. Thanks for reading and reviewing my work Lyssa. I really appreciate it.

I totally agree with you on that Lisa. We do think of ourselves low. But I am glad I had you guys to look into myself. And I am glad you liked reading this poem. I really appreciate your efforts to read and review for my work. Thank you for the review.
