Moggy's Mutterings - 5. Pain

1.
I cannot walk in your heaven
and you can never endure my hell.
Just like fire and ice, destined never to be joined,
we walk alone.

2.
Broken. Shattered.
Life in pieces. Pain abounds.
Curled on the floor, waiting for the blackness to come.
Pain abounds. Life in pieces.
Shattered. Broken.

3.
Scrapping off the outer shell of me,
gives way for dried blood, dead skin,
making bandages for my open, wounded soul.
Words carved in skin, giving a tongue to the rage in my head.
Will anyone see, anyone hear, the cries of my heart?

4.
With each day that passes, I have to face the truth...
Darkness cannot hide the pain.
Nor can the brightness of the morning sun.
And tears cannot wash the pain of a shattered heart, away.

I have to agree with tim; all very effective, but No. 2 strikes me for both the content and form. The very understated symmetry displayed here really works to reinforce the message, in my opinion.

Brutal and honest work. Thanks for posting

thank you, AC. as i replied to tim, i debated about sharing this one. the one thing i value most in my life is honesty, but i work at being brutal only with myself.

I like them all moggy. Number one speaks the loudest for me. They are all powerful for the stories they tell.

Well done, moggy

PS: I wouldn't know anything about form even if it hit me in the head. However, I do like that you were able to say so much in so few words.

thank you.  i'm not sure i know anything about forms either, other than they exist.
