    Conflict Prompts

    By Valkyrie

A good story needs some kind of conflict.  It doesn't have to be over the top drama, but there needs to be something for the character(s) to work toward overcoming.  So, let's get conflicted!       PT Prompt #241 Create a conflict.  Then add conflict to that conflict.  Then add even more conflict.  There cannot be enough conflict in this story.   PT Prompt #242 Write a story with an unresolved conflict that still has a satisfactory ending.    Please

The end of one story...

Well, 'Threadfall' is almost at an end. It was originally intended as a short prequel to 'Gone Away, Gone Ahead' and has ended up far longer. There are a few more short stories to come in the 'Dragonriders of Pern' fanfic series and hopefully a longer third part, taking up from where 'Gone Away, Gone Ahead' finished. Finishing a story is always slightly sad, but it gives the mind an opportunity to start thinking about new ideas as well. Coming soon: 'Hidden Secrets' - A murder myst

True As It Can Be Chapter 17 is Now Live- Author Notes

Chapter 17 is now live, Here are some notes: -Yes, Brad and Beau needed a very good scene of exploring each other's bodies, then a bit of exploring pleasure -I know there are gay/bi guys, and probably a few ladies on here, who know what I am describing through Brad's actions of breathing hot air down Beau's spine. It's not something seen or written about often, but it's a kind of sexual foreplay and stimulation itself. Not sure if there's a proper name for it, yet. -Brad's desires

What's With the Theatrics?

As many of you guys already know (Those who have been around for a number of years, or possibly from the very beginning) I was both an actor and a boy model back when I was in my tweens and teens. It was what I wanted to do. I had a passion for it. But the fantasy of it and the business side of that whole industry are two completely different things! So buyer, beware! if that's what you want to get into, I wish you the best...but it's not what many of you might think it is. So you really have to

The Prompt Team Prompts 10/29/21

One of the things I loved about GA when I first discovered the site was reading the weekly prompts and the stories authors wrote in response to those prompts.  There was camaraderie associated with those blogs, and lots of fun and support from other authors and readers, especially for new authors. I was inspired to start writing, and during the first couple of years after I became a member, I wrote many responses to Wayne’s prompts.  My first completed serial was inspired by a short prompt story

True As It Can Be Chapter 16 is Now Live- Author Notes

Chapter 16 is now live, Here's some author's notes: -Thanksgiving is coming up, there's lots of planning going into the meal and other things coming to head For those, who follow American Football, Thanksgiving day is well known for being a day of football games. Wonder how that will affect the plot? 😛 -The two foods I noted are both street foods of Japan and South Africa, both are deep fried items and would fit in the theme of comfort food, including Fried Cajun Turducken.

October CSR Discussion: Happily Ever After, Ltd. by Richie Tennyson

Did you read this fun, twisted tale from Richie Tennyson before or after I announced it earlier this month? Readers really seemed to like the new take on the old fairy tale genre. What did you think? Share you thoughts before, but make sure you check out my interview with Richie here first!  Do you eat your fruits and vegetables? I certainly do! What’s one location you’d love to go to research for a story? A small country town with colourful locals. I read lots of books set i
