    Anthology Check-In!

    Now that the Secret Author contest is behind us, it's time to focus on our next site event... the annual Anthology!  We have two themes this year - Horizons and Unspoken.  Which one is speaking to you?  Or are they both?  There's just about a month to go before the deadline to submit stories to me for the Proof Team to do their magic.  I've already had some stories come in, and I'm excited to see what else this anthology brings.  So, raise your hands... who's got something in the works for us?

March 4th Round Robin

A Round Robin isn’t a fat bird.   It’s actually a lot of things, but the only interesting definition concerning prompts is that it is a form of storytelling. There are several variations. Let’s try two. PT# 27 Tell a story that begins at the same place as it ends.   PT# 28 Find at least one fellow author and tell a story together. Write its paragraphs or sentences alternatively.

Welcome to our ninth week examining Grammar.  This week, we are hopping on Prepositions. Preposition - connects a noun or pronoun to another word in the sentence to show the relationship between the two.  It often indicates position such as: above, below, over, under, or beneath. Dear Hunter's - The Color Spectrum

In 2011 The Dear Hunter, a progressive rock band, released an album that intrigued me since I heard its premise. The Color Spectrum is a concept album composed of nine EPs each corresponding to the colors black, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet and white. Each color is interpreted in a series of four songs that invoke the flavor, emotion and feel of those colors. It was so unique I've been curious about it for years. Weekly Wrap Up (Feb. 20 - Feb. 26)

Story Scope

It's something that I still struggle with more often than many of you may think. More times than not, I think in terms of a 'story'...and not in terms of a 'plot'. I've talked about this before in earlier articles, but just to reiterate really quick...the plot is the beginning, middle, and end of the story that you're trying to tell. The story is what exists OUTSIDE of the plot. So that could be a million stories all building up to a culmination of the story you're writing, and then reaches out

Happy Fairy Tale Day...
