Weekly Wrap Up (Dec. 11 - Dec. 17)

Exactly 7 days to Christmas Day! I actually had to go to the mall and tell Santa what I wanted as I get a feeling I'm not getting anything from this lot   Curious, what percentage of shopping did you do in lets say online, brick and mortar stores, and/or local merchants instead of national chains? I ask since I really didn't look at the other two options. Amazon delivers my presents to my work and I go home and just wrap the boxes  Lazy, I know. Well in the effort to conserve heat, it

Bettlejuice, Bettlejuice, Beetlejuic................... Whoops, just about said it 3 times  So this is the Victoria Day long weekend up here in Canadia and in my little neck of the woods, although we consider this is as the official kick off to summer, we are getting rain and snow  So how about my fellow Canucks? How are you making out? And to our 'merican neighbours to the south, any big plans for your upcoming Memorial Day long weekend next week? I know I have to check every year with a f

Well all, I hope you've had a great weekend! Thought I'd take a quick second to tell y'all that I'll see ya in a week (or a little over a week) as this girl is heading out for GRL (GayRomLit) as a Supporting Author this week. I won't be on GA much, if at all, so if you message me I most likely won't answer right away, and it might have to wait until I get back. I hope you all have a wonderful upcoming week and I'll see ya when I get back. Wish me luck (I'll need it!)!!!!  While I'm gone, if you

Boo!!! So did I skare you ? It is less than a week now to Halloween. Does it seem due to Covid there just isn't the real excitement that most years have 😢  In my city/province trick or treating isn't banned or restricted, but some strong recommendations to keep both yourself and the kiddies safe. I wish I lived in a two story house, I so would have a plastic pipe or tube running from a second floor window and shooting the candy down to the kids that do come out. Heck, I would prob

So put up your hand if you have had a cold this year   To tell the truth, I don't get them that often, but this year wearing a mask and avoiding other people as much as I have, I never thought anything unusual about it. Then Thursday came . I woke up on Thursday AM and had a headache and stuffy nose. The headache seemed to be right in my sinuses. Not having any other symptoms other than the occasional cough, I didn't feel I was on the road to COVID. Thank god!! Well two days later, after lo

If you under the age of 40, and never watched SCTV or not Canadian, you probably have no clue what I'm quoting and wondering also what I'm drinking too! Although SCTV was moved to the US after a lot of years of success in Canada, I think it was the precursor to SNL but not sure how many watched it. Well happy February all! I'm in another great mood tonight  So please just humour me for a bit. See, my hockey team got their butts handed to them on the scoreboard tonight  As most of you know, I live in Calgary and our arch rivals are in the other major city in Alberta, Edmonton. So back in the 80's and 90's, the two teams had games that were legendary for everything good, and some bad, in hockey. After 20 years, both teams are both relevant again to each others and the game tonight was a

So have you woken up today with a candy hangover? Or worse, for those of age, a real hangover from partying too much? Well time to pack away the ghosts, goblins, ghouls, and drama queens (like that will happen ).   We had a little different week here at the GA news blog for this most festive weeks of the year.   Monday saw our monthly CSR Discussion Day. I'm back from the wilds of the Rockies  Had a great time with my nephews for the 7 days. Lots of mountain biking, took a gondola to the top of Mount Sulphur and then walked the 400 steps up to and back from the summit. Hit the Banff Hot Springs. Another day swam in an old quarry that has been filled with water and turned into a park. We even had a bit of a issue with a black bear on the last day of camping Kind of wish we had a little blue one to deal with instead. Kind of looking forward

What's up, buttercup?   So did you get to use that expression on Valentines Day? I know I'm late and maybe should have presented this last week, but oh well . So I remember when I was in elementary school, getting a box of Valentines Cards and filling out for everyone in my class, boys and girls. I was thinking to doing that this year at work but when I mentioned it to someone, they thought I might be setting myself up for a visit with H.R. So, did you do anything to spread your love
